Excellent for creating custom gold smelting molds. I smelt my own coins, and ingots from my placer mine here in AZDO NOT GET GRAPHITE MOLDS WET AND THEN FIRE THEM. THEY WILL BREAK.always reading about people breaking their graphite molds, I can guarantee they are getting them wet before use, washing them off. Not smart. graphite absorbs water fast, releases it slow. Once it's wet, you need to let it sit for a week or longer to dry out even then, I would wait a month.you've been warned, keep graphite out of water

I work on lasers in the field at customer sites. I primarily use this chunk of graphite as a Co2 laser dump (sub 50W) to warmup the laser prior to verification and testing. It is an invaluable tool and it doesn't take up space in my mobile tool case. It's holding up great so far.

It's exactly what it says it is. It's super dense, so if you're buying this to cheap out on getting graphite powder, just get the powder instead.
