I received the expected size block. It's similar in feel to a hockey puck in terms of its strength and firmness. I would agree with other reviewers who suggest leaving it outside for a few days after you receive it though; it definitely does smell strongly when you first receive it.

The rubber base for my trailer's water pump failed. I bought this to fashion a replacement mount. It worked well. While it does smell when you initially receive it, the smell goes away quickly. This has worked well for my application.

I bought this to fashion some engine mounts for my 1973 pinto car and it seems to.work well...I cut the 6"x6" block i to 2"x2" squares, drilled holes thru them for mounting bolts and stacked them to make the mounts.The shore hardness measures 70A and it is pretty easy cut and drill with both band saw and hacksaw, similar to very soft wood.The heat resistance is poor and one of the mounts under the exhaust manifold squished quite a bit after a few days.All in all a good material source for fabricating miscellaneous isolating mounts.

The seller reached out to me after I posted this review. I still do not not know what it is made out of and I do not suggest you buy it for the toxic smell. BUT the seller is awesome and a caring seller and deserves 5 stars for taking the hit for this product. I was given a full refund. I think they are an awesome shop and wish them the very best. Thank you Oudtinx, you went above and beyond and it is very much appreciated. You deserve all of these 5 stars. Thank you!What is this made out of? It smells entirely toxic. I have to leave it outside when I am not using it and feel wretched when I do. I dont know what it is made of but at this point gives me a headache even just to think of it. I need it for stamping, I use it because I need it. I tried wrapping it in a plastic bag while I use it but that negates the function. I wish it worked without feeling like I am being poisoned.

For the rubber block, exactly what i was expecting , it's need a few days of fresh air to finish off gassing the smell but it's a good sturdy and flat rubber block. As for the steel block, definatly not as clean as expected. It shipped in a bubble wrap envelope so not a lot of protection and arrived with scraches on both side, not major deep but enough to have your nail catch on them. they left marks and scrathes on object moving across the block like a blank metal card . The prefinished surface is not that smooth event to the touch on what seem to be the good parts of it. The good new is that it was easily fixable with some paint grinder wheel i had laying around. Sound strange but they do amazing work on things like this. In about 5 minutes of work, i was able to bring back the finish to perfect smooth finish the the touch on both side, no more marks!

Steel is a good solid flat peice, may need a bit of polishing to clear some of the scratches. Easy enough. Rubber is right from the vulcanizing oven to it's package, needs to be left outside for a few days to outgass the volatiles (Strong Rubber Smell). A process they skipped to save a few pennies processing costs.
