The blurb says that they are made of Aluminum. This is why I bought this particular light -- so that it would not rust out. However, they are NOT made of aluminum, but rather are iron (either that, or else they've invented a new kind of aluminum that is magnetic! Not!!).That said, they seem to be good enough lights.

I needed a small lamp to replace one that had only 5 3/4 inches so the storm door didn't hit it when opening & closing.

The light itself is ok, does the job but nothing special. The glass comes in 4 separate pieces that are very tedious to put together and screw, requiring a second set of hands. I purchased a different light for my front porch and the class pieces were already together so the piece slide right on. It would make much more sense for this light to be constructed in the same manner.
