Installed this on my E46 in less than 10 minutes and got my temperature reading back on the dash. Was so easy and I couldn't be happier, definitely a great value!

Although this part comes with a plug and short wiring harness,it fit my existing plug. Plug and play. It does take a few minutes to read the correct temperature when it’s first installed. I did not have to do any sort of resetting or recalibrating. Accurate so far.

So in my case I had to redo the wiring cause mine was previously ripped off the car, but I got wired up, and I still had a code but I know for sure the sensor is working because it’s not giving the weird error of -40 and 120.

(Update at the end) For now I'll give it three stars, just because it's only been on my car for a few days. I'll update it in a few weeks. So far, it's working just as any other Ambient air temp sensor I've used in the past. Cleared my P0070 code, which is good, and it hasn't come back, which tells me it's at least somewhat genuine. Good news: A little under a year later, and it's still working perfectly. I'll be buying this again in the future should I hit a speedbump that tears my bumper off. Update: I won't lie, I completely forgot to update this earlier, but I remembered now. Still works perfectly. So I'd say 5/5 would but again, and 100% would recommend.

Outside Temp Sensor is a simple replacement on an E46 3 Series. This is an extremely common repair, as this sensor is originally mounted to the lower air dam splash shield, varies slightly from model to model but that's the general location for the entire lineup. If you are missing the splash shield like many people, it's highly likely that you are looking for a pair of stripped off wire ends that are the revenants of your original sensor that was torn off at the same point your splash shield suffered its fate. I and others recommend relocating this sensor somewhere that is slightly more protected and out of the way (up behind the front bumper support works in most cases) and zip tie the replacement there. You will need to connect the included electrical connectors to restore functionality to stripped wires. Once completed the sensor should self calibrate upon next startup or within the first few miles. Cheaper than the dealer branded part, but quality feels like that would be obvious. Since this isn't a mechanical issue, i'm not too worried about it. it'll do the trick until it doesn't and at that point i'll probably just replace it with another of the same type. I think you can replace this one 4Xs before even hitting the price of one BMW branded part. I'll take this version, thanks.

Muy buen repuesto. TenÃa problemas con el aire acondicionado de mi auto, un BMW 328i, 2013. Todo se corrigió al poner el repuesto del censor de temperatura exterior.
