I TIME FIRST I used it the locking tab broke off. The broken piece is jammed into the winch socket. I know why Harken is 3 times the price.

Ordered 2 of these. One arrived broken in the bag, with the red plastic locking lever snapped off. I sent that one back for replacement, which got lost. When I finally got the replacement, the bottom square broke off in my winch socket. The handle itself is robust and doesn't bend or twist when you're grinding it but the 'self-locking' is more a self-destruct mechanism. Too late to return it.

The trigger on the handle does not release the handle.May need to be filed down.
