After it's built it looks like a real wood box. Make sure you use the tool included and not a power drill. It is delicate but Precision made. You will crack it if you make too much torque. The end product is as advertised.

This is just what I hoped it would be and the style suits my decor perfectly. I was afraid it might be too rustic but they nailed it. I enjoyed putting it together and I feel like I will enjoy it for a long time to come.

Arrived in pieces to assemble yourself- a few boards were not numbered but figured it out. Did take a long time to receive but it stated that at time of purchase. Once assembled, I like. Feels sturdy and pleased with purchase.

I had not read the assembly required note in the description, my fault. A couple of parts were a bit tricky to install, but I was able to complete the assembly in a relatively short amount of time. I did not have any help so when putting in #3 shelf it was a bit of a tricky balancing act. After it was done, it looks great - a very nice addition to my home office

Although the "wood" description is a bit misleading if you don't read the whole description, it's particle board with a painted coating, looks like photo. Works very well for my files and holds a lot of stuff.

Assembly was not too hard, though the instructions were a little vague. All the holes lined up. Gave it a 4 star because according to the instructions, the drawer was one piece. It was not. It was 5 pieces and there are no instructions on how to assemble it.Other than that, I like it. It matches the bookcase where it will sit. It will fit my needs. I just need to figure out how to put the drawer together.
