I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. It came from the factory with an electric fan controlled by two temperature switches, one in each radiator hose to turn the fan on for the low and high speeds. Unfortunately, Jeep has discontinued every part of this system, including the switches and they are not available in the aftermarket sector. It involves a little rewiring because the connector is different, but other than that they are a direct replacement. In 2015 I tried Derale switches in each hose, but they would turn on the fan for either the low or high speed. In 2016 I came across the Painless 30111 switches and installed them in each radiator hose. It has been a year and the system has worked flawlessly. My temperature gauge sits right where it did since new when the original switches were working, even on 90 degree days with the A/C on!!!If you have a Jeep 5.9 Limited, or a Dodge Ram with the Heavy Duty Cooling Option that uses the electric fan I highly recommend that you install these!!!

Accidentally ordered the incorrect size, but finding a 1/8 NPT fan switch is a nightmare. Decided to tap a larger hole in the coolant adapter, soldered on a pigtail, works perfect. so far is easily controlling two electric Mishimoto Fans on my ae86. The temp is off by a few degrees, but that was only using one gauge, not cross gauging to verify. Either way, the car stays nice and cool this far.

If you really need to control your fans, these will work but I'd double check them first. Don't always turn on or off at the advertised temps. But does work just have to keep an eye on engine temp when first installed.

Update to my review. the switch works perfect, I found another problem. I would recommend this sensor. This would not work on my motor. My fans would not switch on and tested the switch to be fine. The problem I had was the adapter hides too much of the sensor from the coolent stream. This sensor needs to be longer

Order 2 and neither turned on as advertised..first one was 178*on and 158* off..2nd was 176*on and 164* off..far off from the 185*on and 175* off as advertised, this would cause my fans to constantly run and not turn off

All my project cars get an electric fan upgrade from mechanical fans to minimize wear on the water pump pullies and power loss from the load a mechanical fan puts on an engine. These thermal normally open switches are an integral part of worry free instalation and reliability.
