Had a parasitic battery drain that I couldn’t trace. Bought this product to disconnect the battery when vehicle wasn’t being driven. Also provides protection against vehicle theft. Installation was simple with some basic hand tools and the straightforward, easy-to-understand instructions and diagram. Includes a fused 10A “always-on†wire to supply power to radio and clock so you don’t lose presets. Solenoid switch installed easily under dash near ignition for easy access. A quality product from a trusted supplier. Would definitely recommend.

Just as everyone else has said, this item was perfectly easy to install and worked just fine...for about 6 months. At that point the solenoid refuses to stay "locked" in an open position. The trigger actuates the solenoid, but the second a ground is removed the solenoid shuts again keeping the circuit intact. Not exactly what a battery disconnect is mean to do.A quick call to Painless Performance and I learned they DO NOT SELL THROUGH AMAZON. They have been having issues with third-party sellers doing so and replacing parts with cheap alternatives. This "painless store" on Amazon appears to be one of those frauds.If you want the real thing do NOT order this part. Call up Painless Performance directly.

I originally got this because I needed a master kill switch so I could enter the Old School Rock Crawl competition. It works perfectly and was very easy to install. It works so well in fact, that I use it all the time to save my battery charge on my Jeep that doesn't get used for weeks at a time, and it fires with ease every time now (otherwise would be dead after 4-6 days of non-use). I bypassed the radio to use a direct feed from the battery and every works great. Painless Performance knows their stuff and stands behind their products. I would recommend this to anyone with the need.

Wish the kit would come with a switch. Surprised me it did not. Other than that, the product is great. I really like the products from this company.

My vehicle has been draining for years for 0.5 amps, which kills battery in couple of days. Few years ago, I installed Painless Performance 30294. It worked, however, slowly died in 1.5 years. I purchased this one, 30206 as advertised. I installed it on my vehicle and did a control run of 120 miles before my wife’s trip from Oregon to North Dakota. Her first day was nice and relaxed.On the second day 30 miles East from Coeur D’Alene Painless Performance Solenoid “proudly made in the USA “ died leaving my wife with two children and her old mother on the highway with 104 F outside of the vehicle.. My wife stopped outside of the vehicle to open the hood and she and the vehicle were hit by idiot on two lanes highway. Thanks GOD my wife ended with only bruises and scratches and vehicle - with only minor body damage. To bring this vehicle home was cost me $2000.Any case, I would rather to buy any part from Germany, Taiwan, China or Singapore because they do long research before first sale. I will never buy anymore marked “proudly made†because unfortunately since 2000 small USA car parts producers have low liability for their products.My background is MS in Mechanical Engineering from Hanover, Germany and Ph.D. from the US, National University.My suggestion would be never buy this product from this company.

Was going to be painful to reroute the battery cables so I modified a manual blade disconnect switch (TIPHOPE Top Post Battery Disconnect Switch 12V/24V Heavy Duty Solid Brass Marine Battery Cut Off Switch Knife Blade Battery Shut Off Switch) which worked very nicely. Used two 36†#1 battery cables to connect to the painless solenoid which I mounted on the firewall. Ran the switch control wires into the driver side cab along side the main wiring harness and mounted the push button under the dash. Works great, no more popping the hood to manually connect the battery.If painless was smart they would add this component to their kit. Really makes this install pretty easy, IMO.
