We originally purchased these for an unconventional use - decorate your own cupcakes at a birthday party. It was a hit! We’ve since used it for painting and it worked perfectly for that as well. The plastic is a melamine type material - sturdy and kid friendly. These stack nicely and even store away in a plastic shoe box with the paint supplies.
