We have house at coast of NC with wooden hurricane shutters. Iron/steel/aluminum shutter dogs simply do not hold up. These are strong and look good. Highly recommend 3/4 inch diameter aluminum spacers that are 1 7/16 inch long. They provide extra support for tightening the shutter to the house. See picture attached to review. Not sure why the other rating was a 2, there was no explanation. I have worked with these things for years on my old house and these are by far the best.
