Panasonic leads the pack when it comes to disc playing technology. I've built my upgraded 5.1.4 home theater around this 4K UHD blu-ray player as it provides the best mix of features you want without having to spend too much.Supports Multiple HDR Formats: Blu ray DVD player enables high dynamic range playback of three 4K/HDR formats-HDR10 plus, HDR10, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), providing detailed 4K content as well as high end audio when hooked up with dual HDMI cable to your AVR (Audio Video Receiver).

It's a great player. I have two of these players and the picture and sound are outstanding.

This is a fantastic dvd player. It is not a receiver. The negative reviews here are from individuals that have no clue what they are talking about.

Whole the Panasonic Blu Ray player may have been usable, it's streaming capability is severely lacking.

I previously had a Panasonic SA BT-200. When it stopped working properly I wanted to replace it. After my good experience with Panasonic I bought this model. I came to find out it was an inferior model. The website led me to believe I could hook up my previous 7.1 speakers. No where in the description did it state I needed to buy an additional amplifier. The Blu Ray player has 7.1 speaker connections on it. But without an amplifier you can only hear sound if you hold the speaker to your ear.I contacted Panasonic customer support. The agent could not help, he asked his other agents for help who also were clueless. They said they would research and get back to me. Never did.I search the internet and found a review on the Critchfield site where numerous customers were also asking about getting sound out of their speakers. Crutchfield stated you need an amplifier. So, Panasonic not only is misleading customers by selling a unit with the connections for speakers which doesn't work, but also their customer support agents have no idea how the unit works.Wish I could return but I bought this and did not get a chance to hook it up until a few months later, past the return date. Now I must spend additional money on an amplifier.

I bought this model as a step up model when my old player died.just after the warranty expired, very nearly to the day, I started getting sound drop out. It is literally like someone hits the mute button for about one second. At first it was only about once every hour (just twice during a full length movie) but now it is about every 2 to 3 minutes. This makes for a miserable viewing experience. So I did some looking around online, only to find that MANY MANY other people are experiencing this same issue, and that Panasonic is aware they have an issue with this model experiencing sound drop out. Basically it is $400+ dollars just thrown away. Spend your money elsewhere.
