A magnet at the bottom of the Cyclone’s solvent reservoir draws particles scrubbed from the chain, effectively keeping them from being redistributed on the chain during cleaning. Durable sponge material draws solvent from the chain as it exits the Cyclone, reducing drips and mess. To make it easy to control and use, we’ve even added a handle. Works with all multi-speed bikes and some single-speed models.

For almost three decades I used a chain cleaner of similar design to this one, but was tricky to use and a real mess to clean up after use. Because of that, I hesitated to order this one thinking I would not be really upgrading. I watched a couple of videos where the bike mechanic used this Park Tool cleaner and that convinced me to try it. I really like it. I own many other Park Tool items, including a cassette removal socket and chain gage, so I had confidence in the brand. Set up to use the cleaner is straightforward and, with a little patience, attachment is simple. I also like the fact that you can add the solvent after installing the unit. My old one had to have the solvent inside before installation and it was always messy. Cleaning this unit after use is also much easier and more thorough. I also follow the techs in the videos, and use a soap and water solution after using the solvent to further prepare the chain for lube. Two thumbs up!

I have owned a less expensive off brand version of one of these in the past. While it worked ok, the clip that held it shut often failed, causing the dirty fluid, and often several of the loosely fitted brushes to fall out. I was skeptical to buy another, even if it was from a reputable brand, for this reason. After cleaning the very filthy chain from my gravel bike with my new chain cleaner I can vouch for the quality and performance of this this product. It clips securely closed with two metal clips, the brushes don't fall out easily, and it really did a fine job. A few points- be sure to follow the directions and first use degreaser in the unit (I used simple green) and then use a soapy water solution. In between steps I dipped a toothbrush into the unit and scrubbed the derailleur cogs/cage/etc to remove other loose grit and grime. I also recommend taking off the rear wheel for this job, it makes it much easier to get at these bits. You can use an empty spool from plumbing teflon tape (or something similar) on your skewer or QR as a dummy hub so you can still pedal the chain through. Lastly, i recommend doing this job outside, as it will drip some messy stuff, even if you mind the fill line on the unit. A wipe down with a clean rag after the soapy water cycle, fresh lube, and the drive train looks great. Great product, Park Tool quality as you would expect. Only regret is not buying one of these sooner.

I've used this chain cleaner a couple of times and it does a pretty good job. You do have to hold it upright to prevent spillage, and you'll likely get some leakage during use, but this is to be expected with a device like this. Just work outside or put down some newspaper before use. The pads and brush do a pretty thorough cleaning job, and that's the important part. It's quite easy to use and I was surprised how much grit the little magnet retained, so I guess that is a nice feature. It's fairly easy to disassemble if you want to clean it after use, and the handle can be readily removed for storage. The build quality seems pretty good, and I expect it should last many years with a bit of care. It seems a good value, especially considering the importance of a clean drive train.

This chain cleaner is definitely very efficient when it comes to cleaning your chain, and it seems very durable. Some reviewers noted that it breaks when dropped. I can't imagine it doing so, but I'm careful with it nonetheless. After use this tool leaves your chain looking brand new. All you need to do at that point is very thoroughly remove the cleaner residue with a dry rag and lubricate the chain. At that point you may as well clean your cassette and crank. I've used this tool on five bikes and I haven't noticed any wear on the removable bristles inside. However, when wear does occur, every moving part in this tool can be replace. This is a plus for me, as I would rather not buy the whole tool again. The only downside is the cleaning solution itself. This first time around I purchased my cleaner from park tools. However, even though it works fine I'd like to find a cheaper alternative. All in all this tool beets using old rags or tooth brushes when cleaning your chain, and I would definitely recommend it.

I use this on my Hyperglyde narrow 10 speed chain and it works like a charm. Fill to the marked like and use as directed. The brushes come out nicely and clean easily so you can always have a good mechanism to clean your chain. Well worth the money. And about the quality... I had used it the other day and was trying to 'shake' the water out of the inside of the bottom half, and i was holding it by the (removable) handle and swung downward which sent the peice flying handle still in hand... Luckily it is made of quality plastic and did not shatter. I used it again today. (I ridde in the rain a lot)Long story short, this is a very good product and it does its job very well. I highly recommend. :)

I bought a Park Chain cleaner in 1992 and used it for 21 years and certainly got my money's worth. But the brushes were getting pretty worn and it wasn't cleaning as wel as it used to. I bought this one in one of my midnight "I can't sleep so I'll get on Amazon and spend money I don't have on things I don't need" sessions.Well it came in a couple of days and wow what an improvement - this model not only cleans the outer surfaces but is very effective in between the rollers. I was so pleased that I got the other six bikes out and cleaned their chains too. I am now getting into the habit of cleaning my chain once a week or more often, rather than waiting until it really needs a clean. Great product!

Sehr gute Reinigungswirkung. Man kann sogar Ersatzbürsten nachbestellen. Deshalb 5 Punkte. Sehr empfehlenswert.

I would have to admit, I was terribly unimpressed by its performance at first. It scrubbed some grease off the chain, the soapy water I put into it got a bit grey, and that was it. Nothing I couldn't do with a cloth. And then I decided to put some Dettol in it. Wow. To cut a long story short, my chain with about 700 miles worth of grease and dirt on it looked like new in about 10 minutes, and later on I found out that it ran like new, too.It might sound silly, but in fifteen years of trail cycling I never had an in situ cleaner. Always lubed my chains and did the toothbrush thing - and would from time to time take them off and rinse in solvent for cleaning. This one is a marvel, I should've bought one ages ago.The thing is built well, not flimsy in the least and feels very sturdy. It has to - I felt like the strain on it was quite significant. The process is not mess-free anyway. Even if you don't spill anything from the box, the chain will be wet, and it will be dripping on the floor, but hey, it works otherwise. The biggest downside for me was the price. The RRP is 28 quid, and that's for a plastic box, a handle, a magnet, two clips, three brushes and a sponge. In fact, once you look at it closely, you'll realise that there's not much to it. Does the job, don't get me wrong, but it would appear that Park Tool themselves have noticed it - the packaging keeps bragging about gazillions of bristles brushing the chain. You don't see anything like that on toothbrush packaging? That's cause they don't cost nine quid a pop :)But I'm happy I got it - went for good reviews so that I don't end up a similarly-shaped object that falls apart after a few uses, and in principle I'm quite happy. The alternatives are only slightly less overpriced, and who knows what their quality is like.
