I was under the impression that this cap would work on my car but it does not tighten down.

I used this for a 5th gen (10-15) Chevy Camaro SS (V8), and it was a perfect replacement for the factory DOT 3 master cylinder cap.If you have a performance GM car, get rid of the DOT 3 cap and stick this on there, in case you have someone working on your car. Or maybe just in case you yourself forget to run DOT 4 brake fluid!You should NOT be keeping the factory fill/spec DOT 3 brake fluid, unless you are only using the car as a non-track/race driven daily (street) driver. DOT 3 brake fluid will not stand up to the abuse that quality DOT 4 brake fluids can take. Hell, even throw DOT 5.1 in there. Too bad they don’t make DOT 5.1 caps; that’s probably bc of how uncommon it is.
