Advantage
Ferrite cores are dense, homogeneous ceramic structures made by mixing iron oxide (NiZnFe2O4) with oxides or carbonates of nickel, zinc. Have very high permeability and low losses, can work at high frequencies.
Instruction
Used to suppress electromagnetic emissions by blocking low-frequency noise and absorbing high-frequency noise, avoiding interference. Widely used in EMI/RFI filters, audio transformers, communications, control circuit equipment, LED lighting, automotive electronics, industrial control, etc.
NOTE
The more the number of coiled cables, the better the effect of suppressing interference with lower frequencies, the weaker the effect of suppressing noise with higher frequencies.

The cores themselves are fine, however at least 20% were broken on arrival. No bubble wrap, just a plastic bag bashing about in cardboard box. I figure they were cheap enough, I would just eat loss.

When I ordered these I assumed they would at least come separated by size, but this was not the case. They are all thrown together in a small ziploc baggie and then placed in a small cardboard box. The baggie arrived full of rust as if the bag of cores sat on a shelf for a long long time. Also, one of the cores was shattered into several pieces. Just be aware before ordering... you may not receive them all intact.
