Although I’ve used similar vacuum pumps (borrowed from my son) on auto and home HVAC systems, I picked this one to help test the seal of my intake and exhaust valves on my rebuilt Audi A4 2.0L cylinder head. I made a vacuum plate and hose from materials I had in my garage and connected this to 1/3 HP vacuum pump and AC gauge . With the valves closed, I used my AC gauge to measure the vacuum on each cylinder and then measure how long it took to loose the vacuum. Worked great and helped identify one of the cylinders that needed some additional valve lapping.

This pump will get the job done...once you bought your own Vacuum Pump Oil. Luckily for me I some on hand so I can use this. It drew vacuum on my AC on my car that Ive been trying to fix. It took some time to get to full vacuum butnot bad considering what this is. It is also considerably louder than the other Vacuum Pump I have. But not bad for the price.

Good unit to pull a vacuum on your AC. Nice that its a standard 110V pump. Wouldn't hesitate to buy if you need to charge an empty AC system.
