I purchased this antenna to replace a Mohu Sky 60 antenna after I discovered that Mohu no longer sells the Sky 60. I tried other antennas over the years, but the Sky 60 picked up a lot of channels. I finally decided to purchase the style of antenna like the PBD WA-2608. I wish I had purchased something like this a lot sooner.I am able to pick up a lot more channels without pixelization. The motorized antenna makes configuration easy. I mounted the antenna in an attic and it still picks up the farthest channels. This is a great antenna at a great price. The only customization was to reterminate the RG6 cable so that it wasn't so long. The only suggestion I have is to use better lag bolts. I snapped a couple of them while installing the mount. I was using an impact driver and I probably should have drilled the holes a little bigger. Other than that, the mount comes with everything you need for wood or brick mounting.Give this antenna a try if you are in an area thats difficult to receive OTA channels.Update 11/8/2024I purchased a 2nd antenna for my apartment after being impressed with the first antenna's performance. To address an issue with the original review, the included lag bolts work well once the proper drill bit is used.I have tried several different antennas over the years hoping to get OTA channels at my apartment. The best antenna could get maybe three stations. After seeing how well the antenna worked at the first location, I decided to try another PBD antenna. I was only expecting slightly better results due to the limitations of the mounting location. I am on the bottom floor of an apartment building and on the wrong side of the building to properly point the antenna towards the TV station antenna locations. The antenna could only be mounted about 7 feet off the ground. The antenna's line-of-sight passes through the building which means the signal has to go through lots of building materials for multiple apartments. There is also a metal staircase and lots of trees. Basically, the worst case for attempting any antenna reception. I was hoping to get a few more channels or at least improve the reception of the channels I was getting with other antennas. After a channel scan, I was able to get just as many channels as the PBD antenna at the first location. All of the channels come in well without any reception issues. I am blown away that this antenna works so well after so many years of missing out on content due to the less than ideal mounting location. If you are looking for a relatively compact antenna with high performance, do not hesistate to buy this antenna. The manufacturer responds quickly and is available to help if there are any issues. The recommended mounting location with unobstructed line-of-sight and mounting height should be followed, but this antenna may surprise you if you have issues with mounting locations and have tried a bunch of other antennas.

The simplicity of this antenna installation is much better than expected. The controller is the only unit that requires power. The power for rotating the antenna is through the antenna cable. This eliminates having to run a separate cable for powering the rotater. The signal reception is very high, receiving more stations than expected. This being said, note that direction of the antenna “where it is pointed, or current position “ is not reported down to the controller.A person has to enlist a second person to go outside to report back when the antenna has moved to the direction of the TV station signal. Alternatively, a person could put a signal meter in line with the controller. Other than that one challenge, this is a great value!

I don't write reviews for my purchases very often, but since I'm an electronics engineer and a guy who's interested in antennas in general ... here goes. I was skeptical of this strangely designed little thing, but the reviews preceding me tell a tale of good customer satisfaction. I mounted the antenna just under the garage roof (see the attached picture). My living room TV wall happened to be on the opposite side of the garage, so cable routing was super easy. I actually followed the instructions for installation and found them super clear. No need for me to re-hash installation. No expert knowledge is required. I can't speak to weatherproofing as this was a sheltered installation point.I live in Golden, CO which happens to be within range of a LOT of TV broadcasts so this is not a review for fringe area reception. The funny thing about TV stations in the Denver area is that even the more distant points from my house, like Boulder and Castle Rock seem to have their transmitters on front range mountaintop sites just to the west of me. I did some rotating around of the antenna to pick up some more distant signals, only to find that I can get 67 channels across 17 transmitters by just leaving the antenna pointed almost due east on a line from my house to the center of Denver (about 9 miles away as the crow flies). There are several tower sites on the backside of the antenna as pointed this way, on front - range mountaintops to the west of me. I'm not sure anything I received is over 15 miles away, looking up the transmitter sites by call sign. It seems that stations registered in cities to the north and south of me all seem to have their towers on the aforementioned mountaintops fairly close - in to Denver.I did play with the directional characteristics of the antenna just to see if I could find test the long - range capabilities. I found it aggravating that the rotor control of the antenna is totally blind to direction if there is a wall or two between the antenna and the rotor control box you have it connected to. I set my mini iPad up on a small stepladder pointed up at the thing, and FaceTimed my iPhone in the house so I could see where it was pointed while watching signal strength on the "add channels" screen of my TV. There is some directional gain on this antenna. I had two conflicting measurements. I saw my LG UHD TV's tuned signal strength on station KETD (RF channel 45) go from 73% pointed at the transmitter to 0% pointed away from it. That tower is only about 8 miles away as the crow flies on a SW bearing from here. I had a conflicting result on station KCNC (RF channel 35). I saw a signal strength variation of only 78% to 60% on this signal, but KCNC is broadcasting 1000 KW (read one million watts) from a tower looking down on me from Lookout Mountain on about a seven - mile sight line! That is ten times the radiated signal power than the previously mentioned KETD transmitter.I DID note that the rotor system has some undesirable characteristics:1. There is a lot of gear lash when the antenna reverses, either at the 360 degree rotational limit, or when you intentionally reverse it with the two button IR remote, which results in no rotation for several seconds with the button held.2. It seems to reverse directions randomly when you start or stop the rotation with the single button box control, or the two button remote (which is weird in and of itself).I suggest that you find a pointing vector that works pretty good, and don't mess with fine adjustments on the pointing. If you're like me, you'll just get frustrated running out to look at it to see where it's actually pointed unless you put a WiFi webcam or something like that on it :-). I also suspect the rotor mechanism is just not very robust. It's not like your father or grandfather's antenna rotor.Bottom line: for $47, it's a great antenna which will undoubtedly give you better signals than an indoor antenna (which might actually cost more).

Reception is poor and the rotation position is not shown so you have no idea how to stop rotation at ideal location
