I’ve been a trumpet player for ages. Middle school, high school, college and a military and professional musician. My 5 yr old daughter said she wanted to learn trumpet. We have a closet full of trumpets but we got her this bugle for her to start with. It’s durable, inexpensive and functions like the real thing. I doubt will get her a plastic trumpet but this bugle fits the bill. I wouldn’t give her the real thing at this stage, it would be the wrong tool for the job. Much like using a drill to remove a stuck mouthpiece is the wrong tool for the job. Please use a proper mouthpiece puller. Mouthpieces get stuck all the time. I don’t know why anyone would choose to drill one out.

I played the bugle for the first time and was surprised by its nice tone. Never expected a plastic bugle to sound this good. As a beginning player, I appreciate the lack of resistance. Very easy to produce a note. Although quite light it is well made. As a bonus it has a convenient water key. Don’t have to shake the instrument to drain the moisture. The plastic mouthpiece is functional and warm on the lips. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent sounding instrument. It's extremely light weight and durable. With a professional sound. Great for beginners and pros. Great value for the money.

I bought for my 3 yr old autistic grandson. He loves it and figured out very quickly how to blow in it. However the slide is not functional. It slides just a few inches. It is not meant to change notes. I’m sure it’s supposed to be that way. I just didn’t realize it. He’s 3. He doesn’t care. He just loves instruments.

I'm nearly 50 years of age and I started playing cornet at 11 years old. I've not only played cornet and trumpet in school, but taught them, as well as bugle, F-Horn "french horn", double horn (F & Bb), and trombone F-trigger and standard. This bugle sounds amazing. Actually it produces similar to a brass Bach trumpet without valves of course. timbre is amazing!

This plays surprisingly well and is TUNABLE (unlike similarly-priced ones that are more of a toy) and robust. I love more than 50% of this company's products and this bugle is in the positive zone! Like my original pBone, this is a decent-playing instrument that I can cheerfully recommend.
