There is a LOT to cover with this kit. And there are a few things that some advanced people are going to be missing here. All of the pearls are in the white colorway so that does limit some of the projects you can do. These are also resin pearls and for many applications it seems like ABS is a bit more standard. But with all that aside, the amount of value that you get with what is included here is insane. The tool itself is super easy to setup and operate. That's a good thing because there aren't a lot of instructions provided in the box. There is one sheet with some pictures on it and some short instructions. But the process itself is pretty easy to pick up. You have a rivet on one side, a pearl on the other, a head to hold the pearl in place, and you press over the fabric to join the 2 parts around it. Prying the tool loose after you have set a pearl is not super smooth for a noob like me, but with more practice it becomes easier. The assortment of sizes here is insane too. They have a wide range of pearl sizes so you will not have trouble finding a usable size if the white pearls fit your project. One small adjustment that you will have to make is that for some of the much smaller pearls you have to use a different head on the machine. They screw in and out with ease so that is not a huge problem. It's just something to be aware of.A lot of the pictures on the product page clearly show this being a big thing for use on clothing and fabric. However, I think there is a chance to use this machine on a variety of craft projects. I have tested the tool on paper backer board and cardboard and it works flawlessly with good solid rigidity using the included rivets. It's possible for some very specific situations, maybe you might want or need a different rivet design. So far though, I don't think there is anything you can't throw at this machine.CONCLUSIONThis is a great kit that includes everything that you need to get started. The value is tremendous so you really can't go wrong even if this is only a secondary part of your project. I definitely recommend it.

I don’t know if my tool is faulty but it kept ruining the pearls or not going all the way through.Hoping to use this for my wedding, On a custom jacket but I’m more afraid of ruining the jacket with this.

This is a quite good pearl setting machine. It is easy to figure out and use. It comes with the faux pearls and the back settings which work for all the different sizes of the faux pearls. The quality of the unit is really good and the instructions are decent. Very pleased with this pearl setting machine.

I did a test pearl and it was a cinch. I had a scrap of thin cotton woven fabric with interfacing already attached to the back and the pearl is attached firmly. I tugged on it and it didn't seem like it would easily come off. I plan on making a lightweight sweater/swim coverup that I think would be perfect to add pearls along the lower portion to add interest and also to help add a little extra weight to make it hang better. I'm happy to have this in my sewing room as another embellishment option.

This is a lot of fun! It's like a new take on bedazzling.I was worried it would be tricky to use, but it really isn't complicated. It took a minute to practice & make sure I understand how to use it. Once you've tried it out you really get the hang of it, & it's real simple to use. It reminds me of snap pliers in that way.I've tried it with both knit fabrics & woven, it worked well each time. Each of the fabrics I tried were light-medium weights, I have not tried anything very lightweight or heavyweight, more of you mid-tier fabrics. (Quilting cotton, linen blend, chambray, & a satin)I love that it came with a variety of pearl sizes to get started. It's such a fun way to add a little flair to different things, I'm excited to have it in my craft arsenal.
