I LOVE this stuff. I am a furniture repurposer and I have been doing this for 15 years. I seen this on a Facebook page where someone was demo her furniture she repurposed. So I had to try it on my stuff. Seriously it is the best thing since sliced bread. It makes my furniture pop and everyone also compliments me on it. I needed to touch up a gilded frame, and this worked well. It went on nicely and the gold is a nice antique shade that matched well enough to make the repair almost invisible. I do wish there were a less toxic formula, though. I would not use this for any crafts that you'll be touching a lot - like picture frames or decorative objects because you have to wear gloves to apply it. For repairing building, it's great - and I can seal the area where this is so it doesn't rub off.

This gilding wax is a favorite. Generous amount provided & used it for a large project. The brushes are precise and easily cleaned, will last me for many more projects.

Used this on my beloved folk art eagle. Looks beautiful. Easy to use and dries quickly. I didn't find the wax caustic. It has an odor but nothing that is stronger than spray paint. I would definitely buy again. Only used 2/3 of entire jar for this huge project.

This gilding wax smells something like pine, I can’t explain it. I’ve tried this on paper with mixed results. First I thought it would be great for gilding the edges of book pages. It’s not really meant for that, so a lot of it flaked off once it dried. No problem , that wasn’t really what it was meant for anyway. Next I tried rubbing it onto and then off of things the way the instructions say to do. That worked much more successfully.Some tips: the brush that comes with this set is just right for the job of application. Gloves are recommended but I skipped them the first time and my hands were ok. The jar looks so small and I felt like I really used a ton of wax (which is really more like a cream) the first few times, but there’s still a decent amount left.To be most economical in future applications I would use a cloth to apply and burnish. Also remember to wait patiently for the stuff to dry (it will dry, you just need to give it time).The gold color is great and the cream wax seems like it’s all natural ingredients, all around a product that has been a pleasure to use.

Wonderful product!!! First time using it on a metal frame I restored.The hat is not very big but you use it so sparingly that it goes a long way.I want to try the other colors!

This is a very high quality gilding paste with a very nice, antique gold color. I like that it also comes with two brushes for use. They are small but very nicely made brushes and very suitable to applications for this product such as touching up a frame, or adding an accent to a project.It's not a huge jar, but this kind of product you use a very tiny amount a time so it will last much longer than you expect. As always, I would recommend gloves and a well ventilated work environment when using any kind of wax or paint, etc. but that's just common sense.
