So as a naturalist I am a big aquatics fan. Some of the insects I look for like dragonflies and damselflies have mostly aquatic lifestyles. This is a great tool for kids and grownups to use when dip netting. I have used this many times and it is very nice. A bit small but it works well. I like the small size for it keeps you from getting massive amounts of algae and things in your water buckets. I dip net with kids and other groups in what I do and I never leave home with out it. You never know when you might want to poke around for a few scuds, a few water fleas, water scorpions, and other cool aquatic arthropods. Nature tools are the best and if you are into aquatics you don't have to have some of those big nets that will collect all the sticks and muck that you can hardly rifle through. These work just as fine. I would add you might want to add a wrist band on these puppies for I was doing a research project in a river and I almost lost it. Luckily the river was still in the area I was in and I found it. Yeah... talk about a close shave of losing a neat tool.

This is a quite small fish net. Probably for fish around one inch or so. But it works well and it is a good price.

It was a little small for a betta. Would advise for shrimp and in a nano tank.

This is pretty much the standard net but with a small net size. I think the net size is selectable in the listing but I chose the smallest size available - it is 2" across. I needed this to catch shrimp out of a freshwater tank and I wanted to have some room to move it around. The size is good but the metal rim that holds the net is pretty thick. It makes the thing really solid but I feel like a thinner wire would help me get into tight spots a bit easier. The handle is petty standard length also and in most of my tanks that means my hand must be dipped in the water to use this. But the price is great - a very good value.

This is a cute little net, it has come in handy to navigate around plants and hardscape to catch the smaller, faster inhabitants of my tanks. Seems sturdy. Only wish it came with a clip to hang it on the side of the tank.

The net is fine but it took a ridiculous amount of time to arrive. I would not buy from them again for that reason.

Just installed a new inground pool last year, and we’re looking for something small to clean out the “floaters†in the skimmer baskets. This works perfectly.

Good enough to pick my betta up when doing tank cleaning. For the price I took a chance since other reviews say that this is too small. But, I was happy that it is big enough to grab my little fella when servicing his habitat. I was amazed at how easy it was to scoop him up with this, I was still using measuring cups and his original home (store cup) to try and pick him up and it was so difficult. I'm happy with this purchase.

Like some other reviews mention, this size is very small. I use mine to skim feeder bugs/substrate out of a small terrarium pond, so it works fine for my needs. I would say other than very tiny fish or tadpoles, this would be too small to comfortably pick anything up. It’s well made, though, so other sizes would definitely work well for aquarium owners.

Its much smaller than I thought it would be (2-3inches per 2-3inches). Still decent for the price
