I have been looking for a good polish for my resin work for a long time. This three-part system beats everything I've tried hands down. I got to give it to 3M, they have the pockets to do a lot of research and it's paid off. I've held off buying this because of the cost, but out of frustration from other products I finally decided I would give it a try. It doesn't take much if you have a good orbital polisher but the results are stunning. Get all three products if you're planning on using this, you won't be disappointed.

I have tested many products for polishing the paint on cars and I have found none better than 3M. This Ultra Fine polish is for the final step in bringing paint to its ultimate shine. When properly machine applied this polish will elevate the gloss to its maximum level. It is capable of removing fine halos and swirl marks but not intended as a cutter. Highly recommended.

If you have black paint and are buffing and getting paint corrected you already know the risk of seeing buffing swirls after finishing. Not with this stuff! Absolutely zero swirls, easy to manipulate, low sling. I suggest getting a black hex pad to go with it and this is the perfect last step in paint correction.

I have mostly used Meguiars polishes and machine glazes, which I think are some of the best because of the rich, smooth paint feeling they produce. Their customer service is repulsive & rude, however. The last batch I used was defective, though I didn't know that thinking they had changed their formula. So I tried 3M. I think it doesn't produce the creamy paint feeling like Meguiars and it feels a little more "dry" when applied with my polisher--I have a feeling this product is more for auto body shops, where the polish product needs to be less aggressive. Will use it up and make a return attempt to Meguiars.

I use this as a final step to polish any remaining swirl marks from buffing with a medium compound. It does a great job of adding depth and mirror finish to black paint. The buffing process is easy and works best as the pad becomes slightly heated so the oils in the polish can work as a lubricant.

I'm not an experienced auto detailer, and wanted to get rid of some light swirl marks left by a clay bar. I bought the three-bottle 3M Perfect-It system, a Porter-Cable DA polisher, Hex Logic pads, and Chemical Guys microfiber. The #2 polish works like a conventional liquid polish -- it leaves white dust, cleans up with medium difficulty, and leaves black paint hazy, but mostly swirl-free. This #3 polish is really a great way to finish the job. It leaves no swirls, holograms, or anything, and wipes up dust-free in just a few passes. It's rare that a product works better than expected!

There isn’t a better product on the market for polishing clear coat. I was a factory paint tech at the largest automotive production facility in the country and I used this product on vehicles before the rubber was introduced to the ground. Easy to work with, minimal sling and easy clean up. I use the 3M products exclusively for paint correction and maintenance on my own vehicle. A little bit goes a long way if you use it as intended.

I make resin mold masters for casting and when I need to polish the surface I'll start with sand paper, (usually 1500 grit, then 2000, 2500, 3000 and 4000), then McGuires ultimate compound. Which ends up at a great shine. But if I want to go that last extra step to make it the most shiny it can be, I finish with this stuff. I think it's the finest polishing compound you can get.
