I bought this hammer to complete my hammer kit. It turned out to be my number one hammer. Flat head on one end and chisel tip on the other. It covers just about every job.

I like the Martin line of body hammers but just needed one for a few jobs. I’m not a professional, just a hobbiest, so I won’t be using this often . It looks to be well made and I’m sure it will suit my needs.

I wasnt sure of the quality i would be getting out of this tool so waited for it to go on sale before giving it a shot, im glad I bought it.Its a nice tool for hammering down a stitch line doing leather work.It does however come with a plastic like coating over the handle as many manufacturers apply to the handles of their tools.What I did was use a sharp knife at a 90 degree angle and scraped off that finish and used some boiled linseed oil to protect and hydrate the wood.the grain orientation was spot on being at 90 degrees and in line with the head of the hammer.Its light and well balanced and I believe I will get many years of use out of it.If you wait for a sale it makes for a great deal

I gave a bad review on the "OTC" prybars. Thought I should give a good review on tools on amazon. Bought 3 different body hammers. All were high quality, and as good as you could buy off the truck.

Have not used it yet but the poor quality wood handle gave me splinters while taking it out of the shipping envelope.

This hammer was what i was looking for at half the price at local stores. The metal head is great and the wood is hickory, a nice hammer for 28 bucks.
