How are glass shades measured? The fitter is the outer diameter of the lip which is inserted into the fixture’s shade holder. This will measure a little less than the fitter size so it can fit into the shade holder of the same
measurement. The height of a glass shade is taken from the base of the fitter lip to the bottom of the shade. The width is measured across the widest portion of the shade. How to install it? This glass is held in place with 3 screws on the original fixture. Just twist the screw into the groove on the light fixture (by hand). Screws not included.

The only glass shade I found to fit our twenty year old wall sconce. Beautiful smooth white glass. I love it.

I placed an order with Amazon Warehouse for two Fixture Replacement Funnel Flared Clear Glass Shades. Amazon shipped the two separately.The two shades were not identical. One was slightly taller than the other. As well, it had a plastic band on the fitter neck which the earlier shade did not and--most importantly--it seemed to have thicker glass on the base of the neck than the earlier shade. Though the first shade fit my fixture perfectly, the second did not properly mount in the other (identical) fixture.What was odd was that the boxes indicate the same part number. Both were USY 219-G. I reported the problem to Amazon which ultimately ended up addressing the problem with their usual competence. I also emailed the company (Permo) because the enclosure that came with the shades indicated, "We aim to reply to all customer concerns within 24 hours and provide a professional and satisfactory solution to your problem."A reply within 24 may be Permo's aim, but their aim was off. I emailed them on three separate days; the third email explaining that if I didn't hear from them I would post an account of the problem on Amazon. I nonetheless received no reply, so here it is.UPDATE:Permo did contact me soon after I posted this review and apologized for not replying more quickly; they stated that my emails had ended up intercepted as spam. In any event, they did compensate me for the problem I had by quickly sent me two replacement fixtures. This was generous of them and I have upgraded my star rating to reflect that generosity.

I have garden ponds with tropical fish on the Big Island of Hawaii. I bought this, put it in a small pond, filled it with water and inverted it onto a metal stand, so it was a fish penthouse. They could swim above the water line and look around and they did. And we could see them better, actually a bit magnified. You might also like it to replace a broken one on a light fixture. I sometimes use things differently than the inventor intended.

Was cracked during shipment. I cut or rather, sliced 2 out fingers. One was deep, very deep.

Only gave it 4 stars because it’s a little pricey, but it’s the only thing that will fit and it’s fits perfect . Came packed with care and I’m very happy with it .
