Highly recommend customers watch a couple of youtube videos to learn application techniques for vinyl mailbox numbers. Thanks to the two videos I watched, the application was super easy. The technique I used:1. I was working with a brand new, clean mailbox on the dining room table - obviously a bit easier than applying to an old mailbox outside. If your mailbox is outside already and easily removable from your post, you may want to remove it and do the install inside on a table. Even though my mailbox was new, I still cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol.2. Because the address comes rolled up in a tube, I unrolled it and set some books on it overnight to flatten it out.3. Before starting the application, I used a credit card to smooth out some air bubbles in between the clear coat and the white backing sheet.4. Leaving the white backing sheet in place, I used one piece of masking tape - applied vertically down the middle of the address label - to hold the address in place exactly where I wanted it. Even then the address tended to slide around a bit, so I took my time to get this part right and carefully measured all sides many times to ensure the address was centered the way I want it and level.5. Once the address is in place where you want it and secured with masking tape, carefully lift up one side and cut off one half of the white backing sheet. IMPORTANT: slowly place the sticky side of the address back into place. If you do this step hastily, it may get out of alignment and you will have just stuck half of your address numbers on crooked. Take your time with this step.6. Once you get the sticky side back into place, use a credit card or other similar piece of plastic or spatula and gently scrape over the numbers (over the clear sheet) to press them onto the mailbox.7. Then gently lift up the other side of the address label and remove the other half of the white backing sheet. Again, take your time putting the sticky side back into place because the vinyl lettering will immediately stick to the mailbox and you don’t want them to be crooked.8. Press the lettering into place by using the technique in #6 above.9. Carefully and slowly peel off the clear sheet starting in the upper right corner and pulling down, not out. If you go slow with this step you can ensure that each number/letter is staying affixed to the mailbox.SUMMARY: Great product, easy install, end result is BEAUTIFUL. I am grateful to have watched “how to” application videos first because that made the actual application process quick and painless.

It looks great, but it takes careful work to install. Small letters and Sherif seem to stick to the clear plastic, so you must be very careful when removing it in the last step, or the letters will break. Once I got the hang of it, careful and it took a while. Would recommend but go slow and careful.

I used this this product for my mailbox. It added the curb appeal I was looking for.The package was two days late but I don't think it was the seller's fault. The seller shipped it out way ahead of time and according to the tracker it seemed as though there was some inefficiency in a distribution center a couple hours away from me.When it finally came, I made sure to read the directions carefully. The instructions were easy to read and follow but when it was time to apply it was harder than I expected. I should have planned ahead of time and marked exactly where I wanted it to go to make sure it was centered and leveled. Also, Mother Nature took me by surprise. I had a major setback when I took the vinyl off the paper sheet. A surprise gust of wind blew the vinyl toward the mailbox when I wasn't ready and a third of the sticky, clear sheet stuck to the mailbox. I had to scrape the letters off the mailbox very carefully and straighten it all out on the clear sheet so I could start over again. I thought all was lost when that happened but it all somehow worked out. Despite my human failings, it looks nice. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have envied the nice lettering on some of the mailboxes in our neighborhood, mostly done as part of installation by local contractors as part of a fancy post/mailbox. Was pleasantly surprosed by the discovery of this product on Amazon and gave it a try. THEN read the reviews. Glad I did. When you follow instructions and listen to those who have already done the installation ... piece of cake. This was on a 7-8 year old good quality metal maibox. Washed it well and dried it (both sides). Installation of side #1 (no flag) was straightforward BUT when peeling off the clear strip, I did see that the bottom row of letters was not fully adhering to the mailbox. A little careful pushing of the decal with an exacto knife and then got out a small wooden wallpaper roller and pressed hard on the letters/numbers and -- beautiful installation. Other side would have been obscured by the flag, but the fix was very simple. A scissor. Cut the street name and the numbers apart and applied separately. Alignment was easy. Visibility is now 100%. Great finished application and amazing value. One week now of sun, rain and no evidence of any adhesion problems. I will say that if given a choice of fonts, I'd now go with a simple block style. The "feet" on the font I have were the source of the initial problem I had with adhesion. Again ... follow the directions. Press HARD on the letters/numbers prior to trying to lift off the clear top sheet. Do the removal slowly, steadily. Bring out your wife to sdmire your handiwork when done!
