I'll keep this simple. I removed the points, installed this module and started the truck. It started on the first try and runs fine. The timing is spot on where I set it when the points were in there.

There is not much I can say about this thing. It fit and conversion could not have been easier. The company also has some good resources available on their website for instillation and troubleshooting. To me this is a much better option for a direct points replacement than an MSD ignition as it doesn't require any special hardware or additional boxes.

Product work great, I used it on a 1976 IHC Scout with mostly stock 345 engine, it now makes power all the way to 5000rpm. Used with Flame thrower II coil.

As far as i can tell the product is defective. It worked for me for two weeks and then quit and left me stranded.

The first one I received failed within 48 hours, but I contacted Pertronix and they sent me a replacement that is working great. Their customer support has been very helpful. Recently back from a 1,200 mile round-trip after 4-wheeling in the mountains of New Mexico. On previous trips, I got 9 mpg, but on this one I ranged from 10.5 - 14 mpg. The engine starts easier than with points, but I keep spare points and condenser in the glove compartment just in case. For my install I bypassed the ballast resistor and connected 12v directly to the stock coil, removing the wire from the solenoid to the ballast resistor and then to the coil. I also cleaned really well the negative ground from the battery to the engine (this is important). Changing from points to electronic does require re-timing the engine and re-setting the idle mixture screws so be prepared to do that or have it done.

Made a huge difference on my Scout. Easy to install. It didn't quite slip on as easy as I thought. It took a little wiggle and just the right angle to get the magnet on. Be careful to not drop any tiny screws. I ended up having to take some timing out after the install.

It worked perfectly until today? Purchased on October 24, 2016. Left me stranded. I had to have the truck towed. Took out the ignition points hoping for reliability, I didn't get it. Fortunately I kept the points and condenser. I reinstalled, old reliable technology. I'll call to ask for a replacement.UPDATE: Call Pertronic customer service, will ship out a new one
