Installed this on a 1978 bobcat 720 that had not run in five years. Could not get it to pop with the old ignition even with starting fluid. I installed this distributor making sure to align the rotor in the same position as the old one and set the timing based on the position of the old cap. I was amazed when the 4h4d engine started on the first crank! I suppose I got lucky on the timing, but it is running like a champ right from the get go. I wish we had switched to this years ago. Highly recommend!

Bought a Pertronix distributor which failed after about 2 months due to faulty rivets holding the module to the backing plate (bad ground path fried the module?). At that point, the 30-day Amazon return window had closed but I was only 2 months into the 30-month manufacturer's warranty so it shouldn't have been a problem. At least that's what I thought until I called Pertronix tech support. They confirmed the issue, but informed me that they have no authorized retailers on Amazon and they will not honor their warranty for any product purchased from outside of their authorized retailer network.Recap: if you buy from here, your warranty is 30 days instead of 30 months.

Installed the distributor and my 30+ year old stump grinder fired right up. Actually scared me that it happened on the first bump of the key. Definitely worth the price.

Very pleased with this electronic upgrade on an old Wisconsin VH4D engine. The first one I received was defective, super fast exchange for a different one. Install was simple and the engine now runs awesome. Looks like a very good quality distributor.

Received the distributer. Removed the old one with the points. being very carful to install it with the rotor in the same positon as the old one was removed. Started my skid steer. Adjusted distributer position on low RPM. sped up to hi RPM and adusted the distributer position for smooth running. Locked it down right there. Works great. no miss fires etc. Came out the next morning and started the skid steer cold. No problem, first time in years i didn't need starting fluid to get it going. Mounted this in my Wisconsin Model VH4D. No problems.

Fit correctly worked perfectly to replace old point style distributor. Old VH4D has never run better
