I bought these in a hurry expecting normal filter papers, choosing them just because they were the only thing I could find that were the right size for my vacuum filter funnel. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they work - their pore size is super small, and they have the neat trick of being able to hold up a full vacuum just from the surface tension of water if they're damp. Obviously, this won't be ideal for many applications, but I got great use out of them.
