Following is my initial review, sadly it stopped being effective altogether at about one month in. -- We were at the end of our rope with our barky dog. We have tried a few things to correct the barking (Pet Corrector air canister, removing her to a small bathroom whenever she would bark, etc.), but we just weren't consistent enough to see results. We also have a newborn and a toddler, so often when the barking would happen we had our hands full. We bought this as a last resort before considering something like a bark collar (which we REALLY did not want to do!) Within an hour or two of setting this up, we basically had a whole new dog. I think she set it off maybe two times before she clearly "got it." She did come running up shaking and clearly startled by the tone (she does the same thing occasionally with the dishwasher, so while I felt bad it wasn't an out of the ordinary response for her.) This was a good reminder to give constant positive reinforcement whenever she doesn't bark when she otherwise would have, so we're sure to praise whenever people come to the door, whenever we come home, etc. This weekend, we had pizza delivered, multiple mailman/Amazon deliveries, several television shows with doorbells in them and all no barking. We are having some trouble figuring out the light scheme on the front, though. The manual says this indicates either that it's working, that it needs a new battery, or that it's sounding. We are trying to be sure we're putting it somewhere that only barking sets it off and not something like the baby crying, so it's not super helpful that the light could mean our battery is low or could mean or dog is getting blasted. It would be nice to know for sure which. Also, it does seem to chew through batteries, We've had to replace once already and now that new battery has the light flashing red, but I suspect we won't need to have this on all the time. Just maybe set it back up if the behaviour returns. I wish we'd gotten this years ago vs all the stress we've had.

I've only been using this for three days, so I will update this review in the next few months BUT..I have 3 yorkshire terriers. I also dog-sit dogs at my house. So, at any given moment, I have between 3-6 dogs at my residence. My yorkies are definite barkers. They bark at everything and anything. They bark at each other all the time (if one of them takes a toy another one wants... or, my favorite, if one of them is laying on a pillow or a spot on the couch another one wants. Once one of them starts barking, the others usually all follow. If I am not there to stop it, it can go on for HOURS.I moved into a townhouse recently and started to get REALLY anxious about leaving the house because there were multiple instances where I would come home and hear one of my dogs barking from the outside of the house. I can differentiate their barks (I know which one of them is barking and what type of bark they are using... like, they have an intruder bark, they have a annoyed bark, or they just have a bored bark, etc). My girl dog was barking her bored bark... the Bored Bark usually goes on for hours, there is no telling how long my neighbors must have been subjected to her barking. I was mortified.I tried setting up distractions for them while I leave the house. I don't leave the house a lot, I work from home, but I go out for about 2-3 hours a day to run errands or see people. So I tried giving them bones to gnaw on, toys filled with treats, anything. But they would just end up barking at each other because one of them would want the other one's toy.So I finally got a shock collars. I tried it for a day and felt too bad. So I returned them.I also I purchased "spray collars". Those are coming tomorrow and I plan on using those in conjunction to this device. I also purchased muzzles and will be muzzling them if ever needed. Hey, it's better than getting complaints from neighbors and fines from the city and god knows whatever else. I have one neighbor who didn't say anything to my face about my dogs but who wrote a long complaint on Facebook about us.But, anyway, I purchased this alongside my muzzles, and it works beautifully! one of my male terriers has high anxiety (he is scared of everything) and so I feel a little bad for him because he immediately jumps onto my lap and tries to hide his face in my shirt. The other two don't have anxiety but immediately stopped barking when this thing detected them. I manually pushed it today and all three of my dogs SCATTERED.I can hear the noise on some level. But then again, I am very young and my hearing is extremely good and I often hear high frequency pitches that others cannot.I have a frequent larger terrier that I look after (dog-sit) who loves to bark whenever I leave the house because she has separation anxiety. She has a deep, woofing bark that is much louder than my yorkies and much more annoying. She is over right now and this device immediately stops her barking as well.I think it is a hit-or-miss, completely depends on your dog type... but for my yorkies... It is working great and I am so happy. For the first time in weeks, I don't feel anxiety leaving the house. I actually finish all my errands and the thought of "having to go home ASAP just in case they have started a barking war" is no longer entering my mind. Even though I am only gone for 2-3 hours at a time, I still feel bad for my neighbors and truly just want my home to be quiet when I am gone. I even considered getting a two-way voice pet cam so I could check in and tell them to stop barking if needed. I might get one of those regardless, I am just so set on stopping this barking for the sake of my neighbors.Again, I will update this review in about a month or so but I actually am thinking about purchasing several more of these for more coverage!

It works to some extent, but our unit only lasted 3 days before it literally fell apart.Pros:When in one piece, it did get our dogs' attention. We have 3 small dogs. One of the dogs barks quite a bit, and when he starts barking, the other 2 are quick to pitch in. We got this to help train him to stop and to curb the barking for the others all with one device. When we pressed the button it would get the attention of the lead barker enough for us to get him to stop, and it really scared 1 of the other 2 followers. The other follower, it didn't have much impact at all. So 2 out of 3 isn't bad, and even the documentation for the device says that it may not have an effect on stubborn dogs or dogs with hearing issues.Cons:1. Durability is a huge issue. It separated after only 3 days of light, gentle use. We definitely were not handling it rough.2. It doesn't have an On/Off switch. So if you don't want it on, you have to disconnect the battery.3. The worst part is that the device will go off at almost ANY loud noise. Several times we would see the dog that got scared by it tuck his tail, run and hide for no apparent reason until we would finally see that the device was going off and no dogs were barking. So we would NEVER leave this thing on if there is any possibility of a non-barking noise setting it off. Since there is no On/Off that means disconnecting the battery...not ideal! We returned for a refund and will be buying a different kind of trainer.

This worked fine for just over a month and then I noticed it would randomly go off for no reason even after changing the batteries. Last week, I noticed I could also hear when the machine when the light turned red. I would not recommend this product.

Doesn’t work on our 4 month old puppy. Instead it made her bark even more!
