"Easy" install in our concrete block walls. Neede two tunnel extensions and the adapter kit. The instructions were easy to follow. Having a small jackhammer made the job much easier.Easy to get each cat's chip to register. Fairly short learning curve for the cats. Even though our cats are well within the size and weight guide the tunnel is a bit snug for two of them.FYI, the locking mechanism is set to keep animals not registered from coming into the house, not in and out. Not a problem as all three cats are indoor outdoor cats.One of our cats is not fond of the click noise when the door unlocks, it took her a good week to use the doors consistently.Overall very happy with the doors!! Have not had any intruders since installed.

I went through a roller coaster of emotions with this item, but the item itself is AMAZING, and does everything it promises.My cat is VERY TIMID, she gets bullied by one of my male cats, so I wanted my bedroom to be a safe spot for her. In order to not isolate her either, I decided to put this door. She was HORRIFIED of it, because of the noise it does when it unlocks. Mind you, we have a catio, where she uses cat doors already, so it was just the noise she didn't like. For the first week, she didn't come out my room. Then, she would leave, but not come in, maybe for 2 weeks. Now, she comes in and out as she pleases, and knows she can be safe in her area. I love it, I'm glad I didn't give up on it, especially since I cut a hole in my bedroom door.

This product is a complete disappointment. From the start I wasn’t happy with it. The door flap is easy to open due to a lip at the bottom of the flap; The lock is open extremely loud when it clicks open; and the sensor is completely unreliable which has made it difficult to make sure my pets trust it.But a few months of ownership and now it has broken completely and the sensor has completely failed. I have conducted troubleshooting to fix it and nothing has worked.This was an expensive window for my cats to look through. And go figure, the warranty doesn’t cover shipping or refunds.

The template provided was square, which I cut easily. But then I noticed the door is NOT square. It has an arched top. It would have been so much easier to cut that shape originally instead of trying to change the square into an arch. My metal door did NOT want to make such a narrow cut. And because I was installing this on a very thick door, I needed the longest screws, but one of the two long screws was bent. So I found screws in my stash that were threaded the same, but they were a quarter inch shorter...but they worked. All in all, this was an easy installation that could have been SUPER easy had the right template and straight screws been included. But still worth the investment.

I installed this product, and then paired the PetSafe key tag successfully. But then I couldn't get it to actually open with the key tag. After reading the instructions very carefully I learned there's a motion sensor that activates first, and lights and LED when motion is detected. I assume this motion detector uses much less power than the tag reader, so it's a two-stage activation for the tag reader to save the batteries. Unfortunately there motion detector never senses movement no matter what I try; the LED never lights.I emailed PetSafe about the problem, and a week later I haven't received a response.I ordered a second unit, thinking the first was defective. It turns out the second one suffers from the same problem.But this time I tested it before I installed it, and it worked fine! Imagine my surprise to find it suffers the same motion detector problem once it was installed.After some experimentation, I have discovered that both doors work fine... but only when indoors!! Whenever either are installed into the outside door, the sunlight prevents the motion detector from working.I think the motion sensor is actually just a cheap photo diode that only senses differences in light intensity. When I test it with my hand outdoors, I'm not blocking enough of the sunlight in the tunnel so it doesn't register a change, and therefore never starts the tag sensor. But it seems to work ok for my black cat so far (has only been a couple days and she's only used it three times), as the cat fills more of the tunnel and blocks more light. I was afraid it wouldn't work in the dark, but so far it has activated and opened at least once in the dark.I think the product could be greatly improved by using a real motion sensor, and also by locking on both sides (this would require some rework to the electronics and sensors, but it would keep raccoons out better).I looked at many, many similar products, but so far haven't found any that seem like they would work better.

We have two cats that are microchipped but we also have a neighborhood cat that knows how to use a cat door and wants to come in and spray, so we needed something to allow our cats to go out in the back garden but keep unwanted animals out.One cat took to it right away, but the other cat took a little coaxing with treats and within a couple of days she also used it with no issues.The clicking noise doesn't scare our cats at all and it isn't that loud. In fact, when they come into the door from the outside, they now know to wait for the click that tells them it's unlocked and ready to enter.Installation: We have a local contractor that does small projects on the side and we had him install it for us. If installing in an exterior wall, make sure to purchase the Tunnel Extension ASIN B07HCHL56L. Order two. Our contractor took the time to cut down the second Tunnel to make it flush with the exterior wall. It looks and works great. Been using it for 2.5 weeks so cannot comment on how long batteries will last, but the installation instruction say not to use rechargeable batteries.This door is also meant for standard size cats. I doubt it will work for a very large Rag Doll or Maine Coon cat.

La gatera está muy bien, solo entra tu gato. Lo recomiendo. Llegó muy rápido.El problema, en mi caso, el gato no entra por el ruidito que hace al entrar, que no es nada, pero no está enseñado, al final entrar, me costará más tiempo, pero lo hará.

Quick easy setup, I had other doors that didn't stop one of the cats from forcing her way in. This one has done the trick.

The motion sensor to trigger the scanning of the microchip is extremely unsensitive, practically unusable and I have to set this to manual mode to make it usable.Not sure if it's a product defect.

We hadden last van een indringer en moesten iets ondernemen. Dit systeem is ideaal. We lieten het luikje de chip van onze kater lezen nog voor we het installeerden door het kokergedeelte voor/over hem te houden/schuiven. De installatiegaten stemden niet helemaal overeen met die van het oude, mechanische Luik en we moesten 1 nieuw gaatje boren, vlak naast het oude. Dat was wel lastig, want met filler moesten we het fixeren. Het was net iets te dicht en toch net niet dicht genoeg bij de plek van het vorige. Klein detail waar petsafe mag aan denken, ervan uit gaande dat wij niet de enigen zijn die een chip-luik willen installeren op exact dezelfde plek als een vroeger luik van hetzelfde merk.Verder werkt het perfect en de indringer hebben we niet meer gezien. Onze ouder wordende kater heeft nu weer een goed beschermd territorium en hij voelt zich duidelijk beter... En wij ook.
