The retention spool was destroyed on one side, and no matter what I tried, the wire would not spool without catching the jagged side every rotation.. I wanted to return it or exchange it, and even though the return would have been at no cost to me, PGN told me to keep it for 7 days in case UPS wanted to review the damage. After 10 days they told me to get rid of it, over that of paying the costs to return it. I'm told I was refunded, but don't see the credit so I'm discussing it with Amazon.When it comes to the wire itself, it looked OK, and had I a spool or a way to spool it onto a working spool I might have been able to use it, unfortunately, I did not have that option. I hated throwing it away, but it was a 44 lb paperweight that was getting in the way.I do not believe this damage was the responsibility of PGN, but rather the handling UPS provided in transit, which took a week+. This is a physics problem that is not to be avoided by a standard box with the wire taped around the circumference of the wire. If a hard cardboard shell were to enclose the outer circumference, that was inside the initial outer box, that might help in transit. Double boxing the wire spool would not help if the package is poorly handled.

the wire was cheaper than my local welding supply store by a small amount, plus it was delivered right to my door and I did not have to burn fuel going to get it

I was sceptical about ordering this based on all the negative shipping reviews but decided to give it a try. Packed in a fairly heavy cardboard box with foam around the spool. Arrived early and fully intact. 5 stars, but would like to see a little more effort into the packging.

The plastic spoons on both spools of wire that I purchased were broken and unusable I was unable to use the welding wire at all because of the broken sprinklers very disappointed in the quality of the plastic spoons well not buying anymore unless they make some major changes in their product
