2 device switch: this switch exceeds expectations!I expected 4K passthrough, various surround formats passthrough, and so on, but what I did not expect from the product page but HOPED for, is that this unit will run off of the HDMI +5v line and not require USB power. I am very, very happy with this switch and use it to switch between my PC and Roku to a soundbar and one of my monitors. 5 stars all the way. :)

I needed a HDMI switch/splitter so I can switch between my laptop and my desktop easily while being connected to the same monitor. I didn't want to have to switch HDMI cables each time I wanted to switch so this device was my solution. It works easily, and so far the resolution and ease of use is perfect!

I bought this product based on reviews that it is best. The Philips HDMI switch lives up to its reputation and works perfectly and deserves 5 stars all day long! It's super easy to install and the remote also works very well.

My setup consists of an AppleTV and DVD player feeding signal to a common HDMI port on my AV receiver.I replaced an old and increasingly quirky HDMI auto-switch with this Philips manual switch and simultaneously upgraded to skinny, flexible high-speed HDMI cables. This is an excellent product, marginally hampered by the tradeoffs of its small size and almost zero weight.Operationally it's proven to be 100% reliable, delivering top-notch video and sound quality. To maximise installation freedom, you will likely want to replace heavy and stiff braided HDMI cables with skinny, ultra lightweight/flexible types (many choices on Amazon, three needed, with, in my case, 18" cables costing about $6-8 ea.).You do have to press the selector button to switch from one input source to the other. But this minor inconvenience is the small price one pays for 100% active switching independent of signal source or content.Tiny blue LEDs show which input port is active. In my system, placement of the switch behind equipment means accessing the switch button is blind and also renders the LEDs invisible and of no value. The flexible cables were essential in permitting mounting the module on an equipment shelf with a small patch of double-sided tape. This makes it easier to locate and operate the button while reducing the risk of inadvertently fumbling and dislodging one of the HDMI connectors.

purchased for remote control switching option for HDMI switcher. however, the item does not work and it was obvious to the seller it did not work as it was a pre-owned device.

I bought this Philips HDMI 4 in/1 out switch to replace a 5 input HDMI switch I had that was very sluggish and sometimes not change inputs at all when I selected them. This Philips unit is MUCH faster, usually taking only 1 - 2 seconds to make a positive change when so ordered. There is no quick way to power off this unit so I ordered a USB power cord with a rocker on-off switch so that I can manually turn it off when I'm done for the day. Another 'little' thing is that only 3 of the 4 HDMI inputs are on the back, (2,3 &4), with #1 on the front with the HDMI out to monitor on the back ~ not a big deal, but I would have preferred having the 4 inputs on the back and the output on the end. This unit is more costly than the majority of 4 input selector boxes, but it really works well and the remote, although small, is very 'positive' and works as it should. Of the 5 former HDMI switching units I've owned, this is the best one to date, but time will tell how good it truly is and I will update this review if things change. So far, I really like it and would highly recommend it.

So for the last week, I’ve been searching for a 4-1 HDMI 4K compatible hub for my house office setup. I bought another one previously and it was not working the way I wanted. I couldn’t find one that was not auto switching (or at least anyone would answer the question in the product descriptions). THIS HOWEVER, is exactly what I was looking for. Very well made and easy to use. If you’re like me and have various devices that need to be plugged into, say a monitor, then this is what you need. It is perfect for when YOU want to control what device you’re using.Previous products with the auto switching, would randomly switch my Xbox X input to my MacBook Pro input whenever it detected any kind of activity on the MacBook. That was sooo annoying that the only way around it was to shut down my laptop every time I wanted to use the Xbox. Come on!! I’m so glad I spent the extra $8-$9 for this brand name Philips hub. Now I control the switching, reminds of my old school KVM switches but with a remote. If you want to control your HDMI options, get this you won’t be disappointed. Also, I’m not sure why but the video quality looks brighter and sharper with this hub compared to the off brand hubs I tried recently.

My current setup included a 4K LG TV and Sonos Beam. I only had 3 HDMI ports, and needed 1 more for the Nintendo switch. This was easy to install and worked flawlessly with my current setup. I am able to switch back and forth between the PS5 and Switch and still use the Sonos Beam (eArc) and still get quality sound.
