Excellent and sturdy, the same type you see in a gym class. The platform is gripped so you won't slip, and long for lots of room. it comes with 4 risers that can be used to increase the height of the step for increased intensity. I am still not using the risers, and getting a great benefit from the cardio just the same, and I don't have to belong to a gym.

I like this platform. It appears to be very safe; the color is nice. I get a good workout without using the risers.

I bought this step to use as a transition placed alongside my treadmill when getting on, and especially off, the treadmill after a very fast workout. I got the idea from the gym I belong to.

The top surface is large enough to suit anyone. The extensions that make it higher are another matter. They don't connect to the top. They just sit on it. As soon as it gets moved, all five pieces separate. You'll get a good workout putting it back together again and again. I haven't actually used it yet. That will have to wait until I'm confident enough that it won't collapse. I wouldn't have this around small children. Even bigger children, you included, could get hurt. If I had bothered to take it out of the box, when it showed up, I'd have sent it back.The real issue is that all of them seem to built like this one. Personally, I'm not impressed.

It’s longer than the steps at the gym but still works, it seems a little flimsy in the middle.
