It is a ceramic honeycomb core. Absolutely noting special about it. Just a universal catalytic convertor that fits common generic 3" exhaust pipe. I'm sure it will melt down if you have an engine out of tune or burning oil, but that would be your fault, not that of the cat. So far, it is good. Not expecting any issues with it.

Upon opening the box, instantly noticed that each piece was not in a uniform box like the picture shown before purchasing. Each piece was only bubbled wrapped. Arrived missing the 409L shock absorber plate. The flange was not precision cut like the description photo. It looks like something was eating at it instead. Not a clean cut and definitely not a perfect oval. Welds are gummed on with weld splatter on the side. Scratches on both pieces. My husband was going to replace this weekend but he’d rather I drive with what I already have because it looks way better than this.

The 3in diameter makes it perfect for my 3in exhaust piping. Local laws require cats on cars and this is a great way to abide by those laws without restricting too much of the exhaust flow. Highly recommend.
