Having a remote comes in handy and this one works well and is very reasonably priced. You can shoot single shots or slide the button forward to use the bulb function. The cable is about 3ft long so one might want an extension for certain set ups. It is the 3.5mm TRRS - 4 conductor male pin that plugs into the camera remote socket.

Good cable length. I like that the button can be locked down for rapid shots or for long “bulb†exposures. I’ve used it to photograph birds at feeders, long exposures of lakes and rivers, and astrophotography. It's a great tool to have in your bag if you do any of these things which require minimal camera shake.

This review is for PHOLSY Wired Shutter Remote Control Cord C8 Shutter Release Cable for Canon. I like the ability to lock the shutter button for bulb exposures. Surprisingly long shutter button travel may take some getting used to. I purchased this for a Canon EOS 6D Mk II and the plug literally falls out of the camera's socket - there is absolutely no grip either on the electrical pins nor the plastic plug to the camera socket's walls - so I therefore returned this item. I also noticed that the socket on the Canon was shallower than the stepped down portion of the plug, allowing the thinner diameter portion of the plug to stick out past the camera body. I was curious as to how this remote might work if the plug was a good fit, so I manually held the plug into the camera socket, The camera did auto focus when the button was pressed 1/2 way down and did fire the shutter when the button was fully depressed. Did I mention long travel? While holding the plug in the camera and pressing the remote's button, I could feel how loose the plug was in the camera socket. It wasn't the best of electrical connections and resulted in the camera taking several delayed shots (camera set for 2 second delay) when the remote's shutter button was fully depressed for only 1 exposure. If the plug is a good fit to your model camera, you'll probably be happy with wired remote. I will try another brand.Update April 28, 2018I was contacted by the company within 2 days of requesting a refund (which was processed quickly by Amazon). They offered to send me free of charge a unit if I was willing to try it again. I accepted and upon initial trial with the 2nd unit I could feel the difference in the fit of the plug. It was much better but any movement of the wire - as in moving your hand while holding the control - would cause the plug to fall out of the Canon's socket. I related this to them and they suggested to make sure the plug was fully pressed into the socket. Turns out they were right - when I felt the plug sliding over the contacts in the camera, I stopped inserting the plug. Pressing a bit harder, the plug did move into the socket ever so slightly and did not fall out when the wire moved around. The replacement wired remote control had better tolerance control on the plug and when fully inserted into the camera socket, worked as advertised. I must commend the company on its customer service: they were courteous, responded quickly and did whatever they could to satisfy me as a customer. Only 4 stars due to the problem with the first unit, but a 5 star review for the company's customer service.

Nothing to really say. It's a wired remote. It's easy to use. It's a little light weight, so maybe if they put some dummy weight in there it might help, but it does it's job and it's cheap.

Does the trick, but as another reviewer stated - make sure you seat the plug in fully. I anticipate the loose or poor fit will be its downfall. Don't depend on it for professional work. I got it and took a chance because I don't figure I'll use it much and was a great price vs. the Canon remote.

I've only used this on one shoot so far, bought it to replace another 3rd party cable release which lasted about 2 years. Given the OEM version costs $75 I bought 2 of these so have a back-up. Seems well made and works fine. The cable is quite thick which is a good thing in terms of build quality, but the bends in the cable from the way it was packaged are resistant to straightening out completely which is mildly annoying. Otherwise seems very good for the money.

Werkt perfect en is bij gevolg een goed alternatief voor het vrij prijzige origineel van het cameramerk
