No, definitely not Hi-Fi, in the sound quality sense, but this little amp does a great job for our needs. And yes, it gets loud if you want it to! Great value!

My record player started playing extremely softly and I couldn’t figure out why. I’m not great with electronics but I got this to amplify the sound and it works fantastic. I can even connect the headphone jack to my phone so I can listen to music from my phone whenever I want.It’s compact, lightweight, and looks clean with my music setup. I would say it’s great for starters and the sound quality that goes through to my external speakers is fantastic.

The device is solid and works fine. The documentation is poor as with most--if not all--non-American products. I have yet to experiment setting the gain independently from the volume. If it has a pilot light on the gain control to indicate clipping, I have not seen it.

I was a bit skeptical ordering an inexpensive pre amp for my turn table.Was stuck between a tube pre amp and this guy.With only 44 reviews i was almost not sold, every review i read was a good review. Went for it and absolutely love this little unit.Great sound.Great build quality.Easy to use.100% recommend this for a solid state pre amp for your sound setup especially if you have an EQ on your amp. It really lets you dial in the sound you want.

I hate to say it but I could not get this device to work with my LP120X turntable. The sound was very muddy and unlistenable. I ended up returning it and went with a bit more expensive pre-amp, and the sound has been crystal clear.

This works very well, sound is clean and easy to set up. BUT the included instructions say that when you plug headphones into the front, the rear output disconnects. This is not true! I had noise canceling headphones on and did not realize music was coming out of the desktop speakers till someone told me to turn my music down. So you either have to turn off your speakers or disconnect it from the back which is fairly annoying. It also does not include RCA cables, so make sure you have some handy when ordering this.

I recently bought a new turntable and needed a phono preamp. I bought the Pyle p9999 or whatever and lets just say I was not impressed with the static, distortion and muffled sound. I decided to buy this and it worked like a charm instantly. Easy to setup, good build quality, and not too big. Great item at a great price point.

I love this product. It is smooth, crisp detail for your vinyl. I love the fact it has an adjustable gain knob and one for volume. You can tailor the sound the way you want. It absolutely crushes a tube amp I paid a little more for and that tube amp isn't bad but not in this class. I use this for my 2nd setup upstairs as I have it paired with a Crosley C8 turntable and Fluance AI A41 speakers. The sound is addictive particularly on smooth jazz. I recommend this preamp as the go to nice budget preamp. Great job Manayo.

I’ll admit I was hesitant to pay the price, when there are much cheaper units, but I valued having volume controls and I did not want the challenge of replacing vacuum tubes.I am happy with the sound and the signal strength. I am not an Audiophile, so my ears may not be sensitive enough to hear any sound quality issues, if it has any. Lucky me, right?The volume is good for the headphones and for the analogue to digital converter I am driving with this pre-amp.The phono jack is 3.5mm. Luckily, the manual is incorrect, so plugging-in the headset does not actually disconnect the output to the analog-digital converter. That would have been a problem for me, if it had.The one design flaw I found is that the ground stud is too large a diameter for the forked terminal on my phono cable. I trapped the terminal tip under the screw cap, so there is no humming, but it is a silly unforced error on the designer’s part.I would happily recommend this unit to a friend.
