This is a simple device, of course. It's just some LED lights behind opaque white plastic. But the brightness is good, and if it's large enough so the two complete 24 exposure rolls of 35 mm film will fit on the slide viewer at once (unless the strips were cut weirdly). In combination with a smart phone app that will invert the colors to make a positive, one gets an inexpensive way of viewing film negatives or slides (of course, slides are already positive so one doesn't need the color inverter app for slides). It's also a very good value.

Easy to use and works well. You can see the slides so much better. I think this will be a great light box for designs also. Quality is good and ease of set up and use.

Easy to use and super bright. That's what you want for a slide viewer, right? Well, maybe. In this case, the price is right, so no complaints there. But sometimes "too bright" is a problem. And having to plug it in and unplug it to turn it on and off is rather inconvenient. I wish it had a dimmer switch, or at least an on/off switch. However, with no switches or dimmers, there is no need for instructions and therefore it's easy to use. Just plug it in and it's on. The high-intensity light always brings a "Whoa!" from someone else in the room, and even from me, the user! Fortunately, it gets its power from USB. I have a USB hub with switches for each port, so I can turn it on and off with the switch on the USB hub. Would be nice to have a touch-screen on/off and dimmer, especially at night when it just doesn't need to be so bright. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about this slide viewer/sorter. It has a large size (8.5 by 12 inch illuminated area) and allows up to 24 (4 rows x 6 columns of 35 mm) slides to be comfortably viewed at the same time. The light is very uniform. The bright light and large size makes it useful for lots of different projects (tracing pictures, inspecting glass and optical filters for defects, lighting a room during a power fail using a battery with a USB port). Not sure yet about its longevity, but I can recommend this product to others based on its low-cost, ease of use, and multi-use versatility. Bring your own power switch! It works well in an office or other separated work room. If you use it at home in your living room or other common area, just be sure to warn others in the room before turning it on!

Always get a kick out of LED devices and manufacturers touting how LEDs last of millions of years...oops, a bunch of hours. I hope this is true for this device. It is super slim and runs great off my back-up battery, is very bright and even adjustable. I can see ALL the tiny details in my negatives, and at this age...the brightness is needed.Highly recommend this product.

I bought this to replace an old flourescent light table for using a copy stand and digital camera to scan negatives. The flourescent screen gave me 60 Hz interference patterns. This screen is bright and suitable for casual use.By itself there is a noticeable grid pattern from the screen in a high resolution scan. I use the plastic diffuser screen from the old light table on top of the Photomyne which solves that problem. I've added a black paper mask with a cutout for the negative size held down by a sheet of glass and place the negative holder on top. It's kind of a Yertle the Turtle pile of layers to manage, but it's working pretty well for black and white. There's no CRI info for the screen, so for color scans, expect to fight with color casts.

We were able to view 1,000s of family slides and negatives in this efficient way by using the slide viewer. We could then use the online Photomyne app to send pictures from the slides and negatives to family members who had never seen them before. It's been wonderful. As a result also, we could discard the slides or negatives that were not meaningful, just took the best ones that can also be uploaded to not just the phone but also to wherever pictures are backed up (ICloud or Google Photos or Amazon Photos, etc.). Love this device and highly recommend! In fact just referred the Photomyne slide viewer and app to some friends over the weekend for all of their boy scout and family slides!

Very good for photography of negative film but with my nothing phone camera it's necessary to elevate film on glassplate by approximately 10 cm to achieve best result

For the price, this does what I need, but beware, that there are going to be hotspots, as shown in the photo.
