I screwed the ends of the hinge into place and aligned the top only screwing the end holes. This made it easy to make small adjustments. Only When the top was perfectly aligned did I install all the other screws.

I just needed lightweight durable hinges that I could use to connect to a thin piece of wood for my attic access. This worked perfectly. A piano hinge has many screw holes so it distributes the force well enough that I could use shallow screws and ta-da I no longer need to lift the cover up and push it out of the way. Did I mention it even came with the tiny screws I needed. Photos were taken before it was painted so don't judge me. LOL!

The screws strip very easily. Be prepared to buy steel screws instead of the crap that comes with the hinge. Hinge works great but trash screws

After using these to repair a toy heat my toddler yanked the top off and bent both hinges.
