So I used three of these to monitor hot water performance on a small system. They were easy to use, seem well build, and appeared to be accurate to each other. My only complaint is they aren't totally weather proof and did get condensation behind the glass making it somewhat difficult to read at points. However, the condensation did go away after a few days of sunshine and low humidity.

I purchased 2 of these to install in a swimming pool solar heating system, one for input temp and one for output.They work really well with good accuracy and surprisingly fast response to temperature changes.I especially like the fact that the thermometer can be removed/replaced without having to remove any fittings.I have these mounted outside in the weather and am waiting to see how they hold up, but, as I stated above they are really easy to replace.Simply a well made product that does what it says it will do.

New? maybe, it had scratches on the rim and did not come with the 1/2†to 1/4†stainless reducing bushing as indicated in the pics.

It comes with a label:WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including lead known to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm.I believe the Thermometer Well is from the bronze that contains lead.Other sellers always specifically mention this fact. You often can see this message in the product description:These fittings contain lead and are not allowed by federal law to be installed for potable water use in the U.S.A. and its territories.I was hoping to contact the seller to ask this question, but this option in not available, so I am writing a one star review. I love this Hot Water Thermometer, but I guess I will have ether to buy a lead-free well or to buy a new thermometer from a different vendor (and return this one back I guess).
