I used this sensor with arduino. Parallax has the code to sense the distance available on their website along with good documentation:[...]This sensor only uses one I/O pin. This is good if you have a lot of sensors. If you don't need this feature, I recommend the following sensor that uses 2 I/O pins and is much cheaper:http://www.amazon.com/SainSmart-HC-SR04-Ranging-Detector-Distance/dp/B004U8TOE6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395765869&sr=8-1&keywords=Ultrasonic+Range+Sensor

For detecting relative distance over the advertised range, the Parallax unit does a better job filtering out noisy values and providing repeatable results.

Very happy with this part. Much better performing than the ultrasonic sensor that came with an Arduino Uno kit I bought.

You get NO benefit from 4 pins, it just wastes one of your Arduino pins. AND the NewPing library works perfectly with these just set the signal and trigger to the same pin #.

This sensor works well and has the range that cheaper ones do not. I had consistant reading of the correct distance.

These work, but the price, I mean seriously. There are "just as good" options out there for a small fraction of the cost. Also, these burn out, I've had at least half of them fail.I buy a lot of ping sensors.

Works well does everything it is supposed to do

Ultrasonic distance sensors, and the PING are great devices but you can get them for around $5 now. I would suggest looking around a bit more. I purchased several others for Arduino projects and they all work very well.
