I paired this with a DS18 12" select entry level subwoofer. I also built a custom console box for the sub and the amplifier for my single cab Chevy 1500 truck. This amplifier is an amazing deal for the money and delivers clean solid power to this sub. I used a true 4 gauge wiring kit and am only running it at a 4 ohm load. Amp runs cool even when its dropping sustained low notes down to 37 hz. No overheating and no clipping. I would be afraid to run this amp at the underated 500 watt 2ohm load in fear that the sub would shake my truck apart. But this review is for the amp. As long as you match the rms rating of your speaker to this amplifier you will not be dissapointed. This amp performs way better than i expected and exceeds its printed rms ratings. Also keep in mind that if your subwoofer is rated at 250-300 watts rms this amp will push it flawlessly without risk of damage to the woofer when the gain is properly set. You can easily power 2 subs with this amplifier as long as your rms rating for the sub and or amp do not exceed or fall short of their rms ratings. For $130 you will not find a more versatile, powerfull, or clean sound from an amp of this class.Update: 2/24/20I did upgrade my subwoofer to get the 500watts @2ohms from this amp. This amp truely is a powerhouse with a very small footprint. New sub is an American bass xd1244. This combination is way more than i could have asked for and again this amp perfoms flawlessly and stays cool even under the 2ohm load. Hasnt clipped or shut down even after running after literal hours of constant low tone and hard hitting bass.Final update 3/2/20After a month of using this amp with my american bass sub, it is an absolute beast. I cannot stress enough how good and flawless this amp has performed. After my subwoofers breakin period i have found myself turning the sub down because of how hard and low it hits. Maybe im just gettin old but regardless, this amp sub combo is the perfect hard and low hitting sound that ive been looking for. Will add a video shortly.

My old amp was a Boss amp that I got for Christmas this year and it was pushing excess noise like motor noise and whines in the subwoofer and had lots of distortion. Sounded like complete and utter crap! Car toys told me it wasnt the amp that could do that. I didnt listen and bought this amp after and OMG this amp is amazing. 0 excess noise, 0 distortion when turned up, easy installation, great quality for the price and it powers my 10inch dual voice coil comp kicker perfect!!! Almost too much power. Awesome amp and I highly recommend!!! 10/10.

My previous amp was a cheap sony explode, probably only pushing 100rms to my subs, can defiantly tell this thing is pushing way more rated for 500w RMS @2ohm, my subs are way louder and i have much more bass, my rearview mirror wont stay where it needs to and my eyes vibrate in my head lol. Bass knob is a awesome and functional feature. ripped the old amp out and plugged this one is and its working great. my subs are diamond audio ds3 10in DVC 2ohm speakers

I couldn't believe what kind of sound I got out of a 150 dollar amp here. I just went w/ infiinty reference speakers which match up pretty well from a power standpoint to this amp. I ended up just going directly out of my head unit so i know it would sound better had I replaced that as well but still . I'm amazed with how much bass I got and how clear the sound actually is.This is super nice and I would give it 5 stars but it just keeps going into protect mode when I turn the bass up really high using the bass boost. If I don't use the boost, I can't get it to cut out so I'm not sure exactly what the problem is.

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday worked great for a few months she ended up selling her car. So we remove it carefully when she got her new car we had the same place install it into her new car the minute they turned the volume up it went straight to protect mode ! ! ! They tried everything to make it work. The minute they put in a different amp no more protect mode! ! I brought it home and tried it on my car and it did the same thing she never maxed out volume subs were compatible and not to mention the amp is 1600 watts so it should handle alot it just sucks we wasted our money on it and it didn't even last a year

Very happy with this amp. I'm powering the rear speakers in my F150 (Alpine 5x7s) The sound is clean and there is plenty of power. I really like how the high level speaker inputs work as the remote turn on so I didn't have to run a wire from the deck. I just powered the amp and ran speaker wires, in and out. When you turn off the truck or the stereo, the amp automatically tuns off. Simple.

It is a Pioneer and pounds hard. I have a 1 Farad capacitor helping it out.I would buy it again. A very formidable amplifier.
