I have ordered the "official" Maglite D-cell flashlight clips because they were made by Maglite (so you figure they know how to make them) and its what we used in the lab at work. However, after several 7-8 times at home of pulling the flashlight out of the clips, the clip tend to break. After having my 3rd or 4th clip braking (and reordering replacement clips and seeing one of those break)...I decided to look elsewhere. I got two of these Pit Posse 460 Flashlight Hanger Holder Wall Mounts. Installed them and they work perfectly for my D-Cell Maglite. The holes are large enough so that the bottom hole keeps the the flashlight loosely in place while the top hole gently squeezes the bulb end flashlight housing to keep it from falling through. I expect it to last forever as there is no stress on the components -- unlike the Maglite clips. Also like it is MADE IN USA and the picture showing a Maglite, but probably are not allowed to say it fits Maglite D-Cell flashlights (if you look closely at the picture you can see they purposely turned it so the "Mag-Lite" marking is not shown on the flashlight, but what is shown you can make out enough to see it is a MagLite.

My d-cell Maglite finally has a "home". Locating a flashlight is now about as good as it gets - I know exactly where it is and can comfortably&safely retrieve it one-handed. Can a less expensive mount be found? Yes? Would I recommend less? Nope.

Adds a level of security to the use of a travel trailer in dark campgrounds. Mounted it just inside the doorway of our travel trailer. Looks good, secure storage.
