I have an analog Siberia V2 headset that I've been using for hours everyday. Only until a while ago I wasn't able to use the mic because it requires a line in, which my computer has but doesn't work on boot camp. I found this adapter and it is cheap and works well.I use it everyday with my headset and the sound is great.However, when I first used it I plugged it in and the sound was horrible. It was all muffled and sounded like I was in a box. It was in the third of three USB ports. I tried the second one and the sound was a little better. I put it in the first, the top port net to the charging port, and that was the key. In the other ports it doesn't work well, but in this one it does.I'm pleased with my purchase and I definitely recommend this to anybody with an analog headset looking to change to USB.

When the audio out port on my old laptop failed, I was faced with the prospect of fiinding and installing a new sound card, a timeconsuming and expensive proposition. I do not enjoy working on laptops, especially when there is an easier solution at hand. Which would be the Logitech.At firsat I tried another brand, it was a compact, solid one-piece dongle that looked like it would snap off at the first jostle. Not good for an attached mike or headphone. In any event it failed after a week or so. Enter a little more research and ending up with a fine product by one of my favorite makers of peripherals. Coming stored in an elegant hard-shell box, it seemed more like a fine piece of jewelery than a dongle. (although the case almost seems like a well considered inside joke.) And functioned just like a watch, plug it in and it works. Heavy use has so far yielded no issues at all, and does not tie up the speaker when removed (requiring a reboot) like other USB audio devices I have seen. The flexible cable is essential and makes the component feel nearly natural, even more resistant to abuse and damage than the old jacks. It is now an indispensable and permanent resident of my laptop bag.

This works perfectly for my laptop as a replacement for my 3mm out. I had purchased a laptop from someone and I missed that the audio jack was busted. So I looked at the price for ordering a new audio board and I decided to go this route instead.I listen to music around 7-8 hours a day while I work and I prefer my headphones and my external speakers over the small laptop speakers. I have not noticed any issues or noise loss while wearing my ATH-M50's.One advantage to the default audio driver software for equalization is that you get logitech's software which is just a little bit better on the default driver software like RealTek HD Audio Manager.Pros* Pricepoint was better for me than buying or paying someone to fix a busted audio card* Logitech audio software is an improvement on audio driver software (unless you have a really good audio setup)Cons* Using the jack for non Logitech headphones/speakers could make it seem proprietary only

I have one of these that came with a headset that broke a long time ago, so I already knew its quality. When my wife and I got new headphones I gave her mine and was pleased to find this to order for myself. So far it works every bit as well as the one I already had.Its flexible, and holds the headphone jack in snugly. Windows 7 recognizes and installs it without issue and its a simple matter of using windows' built in ability to switch between audio output.The first real test was the Mass Effect 3 PC demo and I could detect no issues with sound, nor any difference between going directly to the soundcard. It was worth paying a little extra for the brand and the quality.

I bought this one because previously I had bought a USB Soundcard that was just a little flash drive looking thing. The problem with those is that inevitably your jack will get tugged by the cord, it happens more than you'd think. Then in no time the jack starts to get messed up, and you'll have to twist the plug in just the right way or else you'll get only one side of stereo, or no bass, just a very different sound.Anyways with this Logitech adapter, when the cord gets tugged a little, the flash drive thingy moves with the cord just a little, which prevents it from getting messed up. The sound is great and I don't have to worry about getting a new one anytime soon, which is nice.I realize it might be kind of confusing, but basically if you tug on a flash drive type usb soundcard, all that pressure and force is affecting the soundcard. But with one like this Logitech, if you tug the drive, it tugs on the usb plug, so the force is then on the plug and not the soundcard.

STATIC. These usb adapter tend to give static out of nowhere whenever your listening to music. I think the issue might be flash related, but I'm not 100% sure. If it wasnt for this issue I would give it four stars, because it functions and gives out decent sound. But frankly this is really ANNOYING. I don't use any other browser but Firefox, and i'm tired of listening to music through my laptop and out of nowhere a huge static sound (similar to the sound of the static you hear when your tv has no tv station on).If you have the money to replace the soundcard in your laptop/desktop then do it, because this cheap,simple fix is not worth it. I have not tried any other usb adapters in this price range but I assume they would have their own fault in them, like maybe hissing/poor build quality etc.
