After drilling all the proper holes to hang a planter box from my railing, it took only three days for the brackets to fail completely, spilling the entire planter box (dirt and all) to the ground.

First thing I noticed was how heavy the item was when it arrived on my doorstep. Good quality construction and I would have no concern these planter box brackets could easily support more than 100lbs. The ad does not give a max weight capacity, but pretty sure any planter I would use even if it weighed over 100lbs, would be fine as long as what the bracket is secured to will support the weight. I like that the attachment brackets are versatile, in the ad, they are being used on a metal rail, I'm using mine on the square wood pickets attached to my back deck railing. My planter about 30" L x 12" W x 10" D and I doubt with the soil and plants loaded weighs more than 15lbs. So this was the largest of planter boxes I found at my local nationwide big box chain hardware store. Since it is 12" wide, I was pleased to see the brackets width were adjustable. Like these a lot for hanging my potted plants on the hand rail spindles. Very solid and secure. The screws did rust after being exposed to the elements but as the foliage covered it it did not detract from the look of it.
