Scanning
Place the book on the scanner and press the scan button, the scanner will continuously scan
automatically when the countdown finished.

Edit and Export

I use several scanners, Epson. The Epson software is complete with features similar to Adobe Photoshop.These features allow to resize, adjust color, format options and a plethora of other useful features that would be useful to do a good rendition of the material to be scanned.This scanner comes with a very immature software package. Nothing akin to Epson software package.Because I needed a scanner to scan books from inside seam to out boundaries the scanner fit the task.The software is basic. Because I need a page scans from first page to last I was able to adjust format (bmp or jpg) -yes only two choices and the greatest dpi is 600.That's good enough to scan book page(s). I end up with JPG at 600 dpi - and further adjustment to fix I use Adobe Photoshop.I bought this unit because of the plethora of book scanners that rest into a slip on a photo stand.Didn't know what one to chose so I went with the 4900 Scanner.I give the machine 5 stars the software 2 stars thus the results of 3 stars. I happen to be very software centric thus this software package was less than useful

This scanner seems to work well without a lot of set up, you do have to download the Plustek BookMaker app and to use the scanner you MUST go through this software. This was the only negative point for me because I see it as the weak link.First the positives:Set up was easy, no problems getting the software loaded and working on my first try.Scanner worked very quietly and efficiently.The scanning process automatically assumes multiple pages and gives you a countdown for the next page or you can cancel. (this could be seen as a negative if you are not quick enough to get the next page or to cancel)Seemed pretty easy to export the files to where I wanted them to goSeemed pretty easy to rename files.This scans up to 8.5 x 11" pagesThe software works but the interface is clunkier than it needs to be and not super intuitive. It's not hard to get used to though. I just worry about losing the thumb drive the software is on if I ever reset my computer. I also worry about the software longevity as Windows keeps coming up with updates.

I got this because I'm working remotely now from home. This makes scanning books super easy and quick. I love that the computer program keeps my scans for me. I can add pages to books as I scan them for various projects. The scan come out crisp.

I primarily got this so that I could zip through my business research at a much faster pace, and this really does the job! It only takes a handful of seconds to scan in each document, and they go directly into the folder I set up. Thanks to the OCR, I can now take any of these hard copy documents and books and do a keyword search… saving me many, many hours of reading/skimming to find what I am looking for!That being said, the software is a bit clunky and it took me a while to get used to how it worked, since it wasn’t as intuitive for me. However, once I finally got used to it, it became a super easy tool for me to get through work that much faster. It amazes me that it does double-sided pages, which has been absent in most other scanners I have tried in the past!

Once set up it can scan about as fast as I can place the paper or document I want scanned into it. It also does double sided with little fanfare. It will send the documents where you want them into your particular folder that you have created for them. It’s a well made piece of technology and it’s pieces and parts all fit together well and gaps and seams are straight and consistent throughout the scanner. Very good also in keeping everything in its place and recalling a paper or document is as easy as the scanning of it was. It’s a very useful tool and helps keep paper stacks to a minimum. Very happy with it quality and solid functionality and it’s lighting speed it performs. Four Stars âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸!!!

I love this devise because it helps me to to add, correlate, and retrieve my information. Many times I get ideas for short stories from things I read, or ideas from books that help me formulate speeches and this devise helps me store and retrieve that information. It is easy to make folders and categorize them.This scanner is quick and accurate.My wife even uses this to scan and make recipe books for cooking.I have been using this now for over 6 months and I am very satisfied and see no need to upgrade to anything else. I use it and love it.Trust you found this review honest and helpful:-)

This Plustek Book Scanner does a very good job at what it should do. The scanned images and text are clear, and the quickness of the process makes efficient use of your time. It was easy to set up, and while the accompanying software is a bit difficult to use, it does give the availability of extra features.

This is an awesome scanner. It scans pages super fast and can even scan double sided pages. I find it tough to navigate through everything but I’m not one who spends a lot of time with stuff like this. This does require downloading an app and going through the app to do what you need. Everything can be saved to folders you create making it easy to find later. I mainly got this for my wife to use which she finds it rather easy to operate. I know we are super happy with this scanner and it is everything we was hoping for which is tough to find these days with all the technology out there. For the price and the great performance of this product I would definitely recommend it to others. It is a great system that can save so much time.
