This is the second mail box of this type that we have purchased. The first one was years ago from Service Merchandise. The only reason we had to invest in a new one is because there was a storm with high wind and the door was ripped off and could not be repaired. My only little fault is there is not a flag or way to alert the postman that we have mail to send. It is a solid mailbox and will give you many years of use as well as it looks nice.. The first one had a choice of lock or a turn knob where this one did not.

The compliments from others is what's most pleasing. The mail carriers are excited to not have to walk all the way up the driveway. My family was opposed to where I had it placed But after the installation they are extremely happy. The black beautiful look enhanced the front of my Home. Great detailing and craftsmanship.WE LOVE IT â¤ï¸I think I may surprise my daughter with one...

Time will tell. Easy to assemble, tall enough, great look, so far, so good! Recommend!

This is a very nice looking mailbox. It is easy to assemble and tools are included. The gauge of metal is considerably less than the similar box it replaced...a little flimsy but it should suffice unless it takes a moderate hit.

MY OLD MAILBOX WAS NOT ATTRACTIVE. I'M GETTING A HEADSTART ON SPRING WITH MY YARD AND LOOKED FOR A CUTE LOCKING MAILBOX. PURCHASED THIS AND HAD MY HANDYMAN INSTALL IT. HE POURED A PAD AND BOLTED IT IN THE NEXT DAY (BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING LOL). EASY EASY EASY.... AND IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!! HE TOLD ME SOMETHING I WANT TO PASS ALONG.... ALWAYS POUR YOUR PAD A LITTLE BIGGER SO THE MAILBOX IS NOT BOLTED RIGHT AT THE CORNERS OF YOUR PAD, RISKING THEM TO CRACK OFF WHEN YOU DRILL FOR THE BOLTS. SO SMART. THE PAD IS COVERED BY DIRT OR GRASS ANYWAY (PUT IT A LITTLE BELOW GROUND LEVEL) SO MAKING THE CONCRET PAD A FEW INCHES BIGGER ON EACH SIDE SIMPLY DOES NOT MATTER. NO FLAG BUT I CLIPPED IT TO THE FRONT LIKE SOMEONE ELSE SUGGESTED AND SURE ENOUGH, MY MAIL CARRIER PICKED IT UP. BETTER THAN A FLAG IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE MAIL IS ROUTINELY STOLEN. NO ALERT TO THE THIEVES THAT SOMETHING IS GOING OUT. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A LOCKING MAILBOX IN THIS DAY AND AGE.

Had this same mailbox in front of my house for over 30 years. Needed some TLC so one Saturday I undid all the rusted bolts ( it was cast pot metal ) and repainted it. In my quest to make it presentable again I found some issues ….. bolts snapped off, or were missing a huge rust hole in the bottom and the lock would no longer work. No problem I’ll replace the lock. Went to Amazon to get a new lock saw my same mailbox but in cast aluminum with a working lock. Amazon delivered it in two days, I put it together in an hour and my son came over , helped take the old one down and put this new one up.

There is a metal rod that runs down the center of this mailbox that holds the entire thing together. That rod is attached by 2 bolts (and by the way, I only received one). It is very unstable and falls apart. I am not sure where it is made but it has cheap China crap written all over it. Spend the extra money and get something that won't cause you complete frustration. I owned one previously and it lasted a few year. I thought I could buy a second one and maybe add thread lock and tighten it better but this is just a piece of junk.
