This has been a Big help to my BBQ'ing. Now, rather than cutting open meat to see if it is done, I insert the thermometer. It responds very quickly, is easy to reset, and seem to be very consistent. I have found that I want to stop cooking many cuts of meat at about 125-130, then wrap them in foil in the kitchen for about 5 minutes, to then be done at rare to medium rare. The instructions say get the meat to 140, and for us, that is too much. We buy high quality, organic, local meat and trust the quality for cooking rare to medium rare. Given the price ranges for digital meat thermometers, this one works great, simple to operate, and I highly recommend it. I also used it recently when fixing a shower temperature valve problem, and was able to very quickly and accurately determine the water temperature, helping me get my shower problem fixed !

I first saw this on a video, and was recommended by a chef. Purchased two of these. One as a gift. Nice and handy, easy to read. Will shut itself off so as not to use up the battery.

This is replacing an older polder model that was probably 15 years old that the battery compartment is failing. Like this new style better as it has a large get display and holds the read temperature.

I have a Poulder digital thermometer which is wonderful. This one does not have the sleeve over the steel pointer and does not bend double like my other one. It is accurate, and does the job, but I prefer the one I have been using over this one.

Polder Instant Read thermometers were suggested and used in my cooking/baking television stations. The display is large, the buttons are easy to press and the temperature most of all, is spot on. The battery lasts long and it cleans easily with a disinfectant wipe. I have replaced my older one (12years old) in the event that something happens. Price is great on Amazon and delivered quick.

For the money you cannot beat the accuracy of this thermometer! We do a lot of grilling and smoking and needed an accurate thermometer to perfect our smoking techniques but couldn't find one that was consistent time after time. When you're on a budget you can't afford these $100 + thermometers. I did a lot of research online and found that this is one of the top ten in this style according to Consumer Reports. For the money, you cannot beat it! It is insanely easy to use and will read the temperature quickly and accurately every single time! You have to get this thermometer if you're looking for the best at this price point!!!

I bought 4 of these. Out of the box, one never activated. A black screen with no power to the display, despite trying 3 new batteries. A second one I liked quite a bit actually, but tonight when I tried to use it the display was unreadable, with many of the pixel missing. Impossible to read a temperature, which isn't very useful in a digital thermometer! Changed the battery, no difference. This was not exposed to any elements, heat or water. It stopped working in the drawer. A third one I took to Hawaii. It worked last time I used it, which was the third time it was used. I'm contacting the company to see if they make good on the labeled "I-Year Warranty." Would not buy this item, or this brand again.
