I'm familiar with both tubular and flat webbing from rock climbing decades ago. This is your basic flat webbing, available in a variety of widths and colors. Burn the ends and tie a loop with a sturdy knot, double it over and clip two climbing carabiners in, and you've got your basic old-school clip-in. Or use the wider stuff to rig a swami harness in a pinch. Or, like me, stitch some doorway-length loops with "rungs" every six inches, add some mini carabiners and other hardware, and you've got a sturdy pair of door-gym workout straps for bodyweight strength training. It's good, stout webbing with a high load rating and the stiffness and wear tolerance of coarse-fiber poly. The price per yard isn't bad, all things considered.

The webbing strap was exactly as advertised It seems extremely strong, doesn't stretch, is very shiny, smooth, and both sides are the same. Must be cut with a hot-knife or with a snap-off knife while under tension (I used the latter and my workbench vise.) The cut edge must be sealed by melting with a candle if a hot-knife isn't used. I have re-strapped some 40+ yr old solid aluminum Tropitone outdoor furniture (after repainting it), and the webbing really makes it look elegant. I bought the champagne colored webbing, to go with the dark brown paint. Very striking. Should hold up nicely for several years in the south Fla. sun.

After some research I've learned that polyester rope and webbing holds up the best to UV and wet weather, which we have plenty of. Currently using this webbing to hold together a sprawling mulberry tree that grew quite fast and was leaning on my shed. Used a 2-ton come-a-long to pull the trunks together and now this webbing is holding it in place just fine, where some other webbing I had broke. I've always used nylon rope in the past, but it stretches more, and doesn't last quite as long in the sun and rain.

I make bags of all kinds and other webbing I've sent back has hard painful edges, but this is so smooth and a pleasure to put over your shoulder! I love this! I'll be back for more! Heavy duty and soft, great combination! 10 stars in my book!

Updated: the company was quick to respond to my review and made the issue right.I purchased the black version and it looks great!Giving this a bad review because of color. I ordered gray and the color I got was more of a teal blue.If the color had been as pictured I would have given it a 5 star review because apart from that the quality is great.Order if you don't care about color.

I had a waistband of a backpack that was too short for my tummy and I wanted to replace it and make it longer. I was easily able to do this with a regular Sewing Machine, and a household bic lighter. The lighter is able to gently melt the ends so they don’t fray. After melting a lot of ribbon that tends to scorch and burn quickly I will say that this product is really high-quality and melts before it burns. I love working with it and I will probably add straps to several bags with the leftover material. It’s smooth to the touch and really is beautiful to work with. I highly recommend it.
