Very thick, and therefore, difficult to knead the two parts together. It does not stick to stainless steel. It is in the pool but skeptical that it will get the job done.

I will say I used this for an alternative method but it was still not able to seal a leak that was wet/underwater and did not cure in the time it said it would. Not only that but it was incredibly hard to incorporate, the putty's were not very pliable or workable.

This epoxy putty is a great value. You get a lot for the price. I like that this epoxy can be used in wet conditions and will still set up. Perfect for ponds or outdoor applications in the rain. One thing that i didn't love was that this epoxy putty is quite stiff when you try to blend the two parts together. As mentioned in another review, a quick couple of seconds in the microwave will soften it up and make blending easier. Once you open this, it is a good idea to wrap it tightly in cling wrap to seal it for future use if you don't use it all at once. Overall, this is a great product to have around the house to make repairs of many sorts. Just pinch off a little at a time for various projects. Very versatile.

I use 'pool putty' for a ton of different applications. It is so versatile and useful for things beyond pools, so I always like to keep it on hand. Usually, I get the putty in the tubes, which is a pretty small amount, so I was excited to get a lot more with this product. This arrived pretty quick. There are 2 seperate, sealed packages in the box along with a putty knife which is a bit flimsy.NOW, I know this stuff isn't supposed to smell good, but I've never used a putty that smelled this bad- like old, rotten fish, before. The stench literally brought a tear to my eye as soon as I opened the packages. It's not that easy to break/cut off a piece of either one of these blocks. I'm guessing that's what the putty knife is for. The problem though is- the putty knife is super flimsy and both of the blocks are VERY hard. I don't know if somehow mine were already exposed to air, or if they have been laying around for a while because my blocks are more like bricks! Making it worse, when you cut through the bricks, you have to make sure the pieces are as even as possible.Mixing this isn't fun either. Not only is the putty hard, but it's also crumbly. Mine just didn't want to stay together at all. It's super stressful because I'm trying to mix/keep it together and bits keep dropping out of the crumbly mass. Once the color starts to get even, the putty starts getting warm and shortly after, starts to set up. There's not a lot of time to work with this at all.I used this around my drippy house spigot, just to give it a better seal and make it a little more secure. There were a few drips of water there already (I tried to wipe them off, but it was dripping) and this had a very interesting reaction to the water. First, it got really slick on the surface- almost like wet clay. It left grayish white residue all over the areas that I touched after with that 'slip' on my hands. Then, while that was happening at the top, the underside had completely seized up with water contact! I was pretty shocked. This has never happened to me before and this is literally supposed to be used under water! I wouldn't put this in my pool- ever!I got to thinking after that.Maybe I didn't have equal parts. Maybe I didn't mix it well. Maybe it was too hot outside. So I went into the AC house, got out my scale and literally put down a mixing mat. All the same things happened that I mentioned above. Thus just doesn't do well with water at all! Now, if you can cut it (I use a metal paint scraper) and get it mixed well and on time, this does set up nice outside of water applications. AND, if you put it on something totally dry, let it set and then introduce water (like a hole/crack in a pipe) then it is water resistant and will stop leaks. So it DOES work, it's just a pain.Again, I feel like I might have received a product that was already exposed to air somehow because I just don't think it's supposed to be this hard (to cut or mix). It's unfortunate because I was excited to have so much product and not spend a ton of money.
