Changed to 5 stars... apparently a generic box is used for 2 different items I originally thought to be incomplete. The dividing panel was not missing, it's a different item number with that feature. It's lightweight yet sturdy and serves our purpose even without the panel. I just wanted others to know our experience. Pictures are of product in a 55 gal aquarium.

I have been using one of these for a few months to contain newborn mystery snails, and it works perfectly. It's a nice, large size, and the mesh holes are small enough to contain these tiny babies. The suction cups are excellent. However, objectively, it's not a quality item. It would be very easy to accidentally snap the uprights while assembling (with no instructions, by the way), and the second one I ordered came with a hole in the mesh.

I would consider purchasing again if it were priced at $4.99 it would be a bargain $2.99. It’s basically a disposable, single-use way to separate your fish. I’m not sure the holes are small enough to prevent fry from passing through the netting.During assembly, one of the 4 posts snapped while I was attempting to insert it in to the frame, with very little pressure. Fortunately, I was able to reattach it with crazy glue. Seriously - it’s not worth what they are charging.

I got this setup to help put an agressive cichlid in 'time-out' after he all but killed his new tank mates. The dominate male of the tank got sick, and the 2nd in command was able to take charge and ruled with a bloody fist.I had to seperate out the sick dominate male while he recovered or the other male was going to kill him in no time. Thankfully he made a quick recovery, and after jumping out of the net and back into the main tank he quickly reasserted his dominace and showed that jerk fish who was really boss... and now peace has returned to the tank.Oh... and i put a snail egg clutch in there so they could hatch and not get eaten - and it worked great for that too. The only down side is it was not the easiest to assemble and is kinda floppy until you get everything snug but once it was together it was fine so i didnt take anything major off for that.

On two occasions I used this netting to introduced new fish to my aquarium tank to make sure the fish was ok before release (because of the rock wall landscaping it's hard to catch any of the fish) and if the fish was having issues I could easily remove the fish. On a another occasion I used this netting to house an African Cichlid that was holding eggs. On all occasions this netting failed; the suction cups did not hold and the fish were released into the tank. Because of this, I no longer trust any of these nursery netting that have suction cups. I will only use those that physically hook on to the tank.I can not recommend this product for reasons stated above.

This net was easy to put together and suctionend tight in my tank. It is the perfect size to give entry of room for my fish to breed

So I only have mystery snails and 1 pea size piano snail. I do not have fish so I did not need to worry about fish getting trapped in the net. However the baby snails do not seem to move very much or well on the net? I do love that they are getting lots of water circulation but it seems like they all have a hard time moving. I also noticed when they 1st hatched about 10 or 15 fell out of the breeder net. This is my 1st attempt at hatching baby snails so maybe it has nothing to do with the netting? However the babies in the actual tank are moving much more. I think next time around I will try an acrylic breeder box. UPDATE 3/17/21 all of my baby snails did die! They could NOT move on the netting. I would NEVER use this for baby shrimp or snails. It costs WAY to much. IT is very very flimsy! I have new batches of babies and put in a acrlic box and they are doing great!!!!
