I have had the same five [items] I ordered months ago, and they just keep going. To be honest, I keep using the same two, and they just work.

Some were chipped in shipping. They were packed loose in the box.

I've used popping corks extensively ever since moving to SW Florida ten years ago. Although a simple concept, the execution of the popping cork concept varies greatly from one maker to the next. These are good ones.I don't know that the colored beads on the top--which cannot be seen by fish and which don't add to the popping sound, serve any function--but they certainly don't hurt, either. On the bottom side there's a weight to help with casting, and the weight is thoughtfully separated from the "cork" with a washer. That probably increases longevity and sound amplification. Under the weight are two colored beads, and then a swivel. Having both top and bottom swivels makes tying this popping cork to the main line and the leader easy and secure. One beneficial thing I noticed that isn't mentioned in the website description is that there are hard plastic rings as part of both the top and bottom of the cork where the wire passes through. I think that will have the effect of keeping those parts of the cork from deteriorating over time with many repetitions of the "popping" action.Personally, I would probably make one modification: I'd like the wire to be about 1/2" shorter than it is. However, overall, these are now my "go to" popping corks.

I've tried a few different brands and this is as good as any I've tried. They don't float terribly high, so they get lost behind waves if it's a little choppy, but that's to be expected. If you use these with jigs/soft plastics, keep the jig heads light and it won't be an issue.

Metal wire bends when fighting fish but is a cheaper option than the bomber one.
